Is this show ever going to finish? 3 years between seasons is nuts

  • 3 months later...

Not sure if anyone even cares anymore but they finally announced the dates

9 years to do 5 seasons is nuts, but when each episode is feature length I guess it makes sense. Still undeniable what this show has meant for pop culture over the past decade - will never forget how blown away I was by season 1. The actors, the music, everything.

Greedy Netflix splitting it up

Is it directly after the previous season? Don't know how you'd explain how they look different lol

I'll probably just wait until it's all released because it's not a big deal to me

They split the last season up too - but during just 2 dates, not 3 lol

Honestly I don't think they're gonna look much different now from the last season - although I did see a pic of some of them recently and the black kid has a full beard lol

I don't remember that far back lol it's just greed. Counter to it is just binge after everything is out. You may have to be careful when on social media as to not spoil yourself though

It's not the first time actors in their 20s played kids but when they're in a show like this where you see them over a course of time then you'll see the actors growth spurt despite the character being younger

A new trailer dropped yesterday

How does Nancy look older than me? Crikey

I'm guessing no one is watching this? Lol

I finished it last night.

It was ok, I guess. The time off from last season killed a lot of interest for me.

The ending twist was dumb.

I actually forgot it was out plus this thread didn't pop up so I figured I don't need to rush into it lol

They took too long and then are splitting things up into separate parts, I also lost interest. The last season was mostly filler and dumb anyway.

Hollywood used to produce 22-24 episodes of TV every year for 4-5 seasons. Now they need 3-4 years to make a handful of episodes.

I don't even remember most of the last season and I have no desire to rewatch it. I think I'll eventually get to it but, I'm not excited about it at all

I mean, in all fairness those were sitcoms filmed 95% of the time in the same studio. Now they're fiming on location like movies and using a ton of movie quality effects.

True. But they also did dramas, action packed shows like ER, Law & Order and CSI type shows shot many scenes outside on location in busy cities. The X-files managed it in the 90s.

These newer shows have less episodes but shows like Breaking Bad and lots of other Netflix shows, HBO with Game of Thrones, etc make stuff and don't wait 3 years between.

Especially when you have growing teens, you need to plan better.

And not like ST is whisking you away to a new location/set design every episode. Same town, copy/paste the upside down and the underground labs. Not much else.
