there's not much material about the second age to begin with, but yes, the fall of numenor is huge in the story. it leads to elendil & isuldur forming anor and gondor and eventually the last alliance. the time spent on the stranger, the harfoots and what is happening in rhun is pretty much being made up as they go.

Yikes, this show really knows how to throw a clunker just when you're getting into it.  Ep 2.6 was one of those.

Still looks amazing. Kind of don't care about the Harfoots story. I probably would if we didn't get only 8 episodes every couple of years. There's just too much for 8 episodes

Another uneven but ultimately fun season. The battle episodes at the end were very impressive. I don't go around recommending it because it lacks cross over appeal but as a Tolkien fan who doesn't get weighed down by "THE CANNON" of my fave IP's, I can say it's one of the few shows out there I actually forward to.

i enjoy the show quite a bit, but i still don't get the "its not canon" complaints. the time period in which this is taking place, there was very little written down by j.r.r. himself.
