When all your critical mistakes are coming from the passing game, it makes sense to run more. Doug tried to pass our way out of a passing funk. It didn't work. They literally spent weeks defending that dude for looking like trash week after week. Meanwhile they over analyze 4 games of a rookie. Their bias completely shows. The thing that gets me is that pretty much every scouting report on Hurts suggested he would need a year of development. He gets thrown into an awful situation that a highly paid veteran couldn’t handle and did absolutely make rookie mistakes at times. But the offense also moved the ball a lot better when he was in there. He showed some really good things. Enough to have a proper look at this year, surrounded by what will hopefully be a much better supporting cast. In fact all 17 games next year probably is not going to be enough either. Unless of course Hurts just looks hopeless and then it probably is. From the talk in camp it already sounds like Hurts is improving and many of his teammates are believing in him. It seems like he’s already starting to turn the corner. This guy is a hard worker and hit puts the blame on himself when he’s not succeeding.
