As soon as they start having success, the defense starts to load the box, daring Wentz to beat them through the air. And he hasn’t been able to do it. Not to mention putting them in a hole early with the constant 3 and outs and turnovers, which also reduces how much they can run the ball.

December 16, 20204 yr Doug admitted that with the backup, you call more runs and rollouts and keep things simple for him. When asked why he doesn't do that for Wentz when struggling, he said something along the lines of that's how it is in the NFL. Reid used to do the same thing. We'd be screaming for more runs and plays that played to the starting QB strengths. As soon as a backup came in, he would do that and we'd complain that if he did that for the starter, the starter would be better off.
