Benefit of doubt for the coaching?  Yes, especially given the injuries and subpar talent.

Scouting and drafting?  No benefit of a doubt given.  Abysmal.  Howie may be one of the worst GM’s in the category.

After this draft, I hope Howie gets canned.  But Lurie has a massive boner for Howie and he has the coldest seat in the NFL.

Agreed.  This should be the final nail in the coffin.

I certainly don't like the Hurts pick where they could have had a player who would contribute right away. This pick reminds of the Vick/ McNabb experiments. All I see it failed wildcat formations and Carson frustrations.

Howie has no business being over a draft.  Lurie needs to make 1 of 2 choices:

1. Fire Howie and get a real GM.  He won't do that.

2. Move Howie to a Joe Banner executive role handling cap, contracts and negotiations.  Hire a new VP of Personnel (Weidl needs to go) who will be over all scouting and set the draft board and decide the draft picks.  Phase Howie out, other people can do contracts.

My quick reaction to the first 3 picks:

1. Reagor is a good pick, not great.
2. Hurts - stupid. Take a developmental QB with one of your three 4th round picks, sure.  Not 2nd.
3. Taylor - never heard of him.  Athletic, special teamer and outside LB/S hybrid.  The LB room sucks so they needed one.  We'll see.

I would have done:

1. LB Queen
2. WR Mims
3. S Burgess

Or if they still take Reagor, take DE Epenesa in the 2nd.  Or CB Fulton. Then trade up in the 3rd for Duvernay.

During that PC:

Howie looked like a child explaining why he made a mess to his parents.

Doug looked like he didn't want Hurts and was annoyed, or drunk.

Weidl has no clue.

I bashed Joe Douglas for years and went for the bait of him as the fall guy.  He nailed his first draft away from Howie.  Howie tried to mystify his draft process and outsmart everyone until he got no value again.

Im all for it...so long as the stair case goes on longer beyond the darkness so I can enjoy listening to Howie tumble down for awhile.

I didn't even realise Mims was still on the board. God the Hurts pick gets worse.

Yes and we are forever thankful.  Does that give him a free pass for life now?  He's been terrible since 2017 when he caught lightning in a bottle on all his FA pick ups.

Here we go again with -- it's Douglas's fault. (SEE STEP 3)

The Howie Roseman Cycle:

1) Player is a bust, fire position coach.

2) Hire a "football guy" to assist with draft. Howie can't do it all by himself! He's just a numbers guy!!!!

3) Blame busts on the "football guy" getting in the way (Barnett, S. Jones, Mack Hollins, PUMPHREY, Gibson, Arcega-Whiteside, etc.)

4) Fire/move on from football guy so Howie can handle the draft alone without any distractions

5) Repeat Steps 1-4

Ok ya he ruined this one lol

I swear a TATE council could have done a better draft than Howie.

I mean we wouldn't have made such a ridiculous pick so yeah I agree.

Howie need to be removed from the decision making process today, right now, so he doesn't screw this up anymore than he has. What's next, a kicker?

No arguments from me. I mean Lurie isn't stupid surely he can see this is BS.

I don’t know. I feel like Howie has done worse and somehow came through it. How did he survive the "dream team?”

I know a couple of these picks can work out, but right now it looks like every round was a missed opportunity.  Roseman and Weidl need to go.
