I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Ertz?

Signed for two years, so not a UFA and won’t garner any comp picks.  UFAs are like NRC, Jalen Mills, Vinny Curry, Jason Peters, Richard Rodgers.  That’s why everyone reacted to Afan’s post.  Don’t see the Eagles getting any 2022 comp picks.

Eagles will skip FAs b/c they'd like to accumulate more comp picks for the 2022 draft, and they can't afford starters in their prime years.

They'll go bargain basement hunting, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, you can find reclamation projects that outperform a lot of big money FAs.

Any call on a QB will be driven by Sirianni, you don't draft a QB that your new HC doesn't think he can develop into a top starter.

I have a lot more confidence in Sirianni than Doug when it comes to QBs, Foles is his only success story, Wentz regressed and Sudfeld never developed.

Doug as QB coach, Vick's best year was 2010, Doug was coach in 2011-12, Foles had a decent rookie season under him.

Doug as OC:  Smith actually played better in SF than his first year under Doug as OC, then improved the next two seasons.

The Eagles will skip FAs because they have no cap space due to mismanagement.  They will go bargain basement hunting and are unlikely to add anyone of note except for maybe a player like Gareon Conley.

I agree Sirianni will have a say on whether they draft a QB but let's not pretend Howie's going to defer to him on this decision.  If Howie is smitten with some prospect, the Eagles are likely to take the player regardless of what Sirianni thinks.

I am not sure what we have to base any track record of success for Sirianni in terms of QB development.  He's coached 2 very good veterans and one back up.  The offenses for Rivers and Brissett were run heavy.  Luck had a great year but it was in line with his talent.  You can't evaluate Doug without looking at Wentz's production outside of 2020.  Wentz developed quickly in 2016 and was playing at an MVP level in 2017.  Doug was better when he had assistants that could get more out of Wentz.  Press Taylor could not do it and Pederson did not want to move on from him.  The best thing about Sirianni is that he's not keeping Press Taylor on his staff.  It doesn't mean he's going to get more out of a QB.

Gotcha, and I knew that...got out in front of my skis on that one....I just don't think Ertz gets traded

No one is saying mid round picks.  We are looking for 2nd rounders to move down 5-10 spots.

I know, I know....but Howie.  We know.  We're f-ed either way.

High probability they are F'ed either way, but I guess if you give Howie two picks in every round maybe he'll get one right like Sanders.

So they go from 6 to 14 and what? Draft one of the CB nobody is sure will flame out or not? Just so Howie can draft another guy in the 2nd with a 3rd round grade who flames out? I've seen this movie before. Again, with a better GM I'd be on board. I just think it's asking for a blown first when they need to nail it.

Are the WR a lock? Nope. I'll take my chances there vs the CBs or DE slated to go 10-20. That's just me and just based on how much Howie sucks at picks.

Newest moronic sentiment in the blog.

Rando Blog poster:  "No...don't trade out of the 6th spot.....we want our blue chipper........"

Logical response: "The top of this draft is short on blue chip talent.  Who is the blue chipper you want"?

Rando Blog poster:  "There is talent at 6.  We want the blue chipper"!

Logical response:  "Again, who is the blue chipper you want"?

Rando Blog poster:  "You don't get it"!!!

LOL :roll::roll:

Problem with trading down this year is if level 6-21 are equal that means the player you are hoping for at 21 might well go higher.  Problem with your trade down scenarios is that you can end up with the situation where Howie trades down to a player that doesn’t fit a need for the team. (Howie thinking he is smarter than everyone else and outsmarting himself version 3.0).  You have to look at the likely valuations of every team that jumps in front of the Eagles in a trade down.  So the Rando kind of has a point because sticking at #6, the Eagles get their pick of those 15 players.

When do Jackson and Alshon officially get released?

Grandson just got an offer from Middle Tennessee State University ( Conference USA) and a text from West point asking for his transcripts.

No.  I didn't say "not talent" is available at 6.  So don't make ish up.  I said no Blue Chip talent at 6.  If somehow Sewell slides, then we should draft him and run.  Other than that.  Trade down.  Who is the blue chip talent you are targeting?

No...you don't get it.  You claim there will be blue chip talent at 6.  Tell us who it is.  Or just admit you don't know.  Which would mean, YOU don't get it.

Let’s start here. Name me the years that talent evaluators have been right. Go ahead

Big Ben retiring would be a very good outcome for us.

I do, I just think many fans are going to be disappointed in the value.  If Howie gets more than a 5, I will be greatly surprised.  Given the likelihood of success in day 3, a 5, 6 or 7 is good value for the acquiring team.  It is kind of like the moaning about Avery.  A four was a little steep but he projected as a 4 level player based on his first year.

Probably after the Wentz trade.

@4for4EaglesNest Would you consider Slater a good pick at #6?

I think Avery was a miss because the team just failed to use him after the trade.  While I think Avery potentially had the value of a 4th.  The team just did nothing with him.

I don't think Pittsburgh is going to trade for Wentz.  I could see how them being in the market makes the QB market more competitive but I think teams are in on Wentz or not at this point.  If the Steelers wanted Wentz they would already be calling.

Even Pittsburgh trading for Mariota/Darnold would take another option off the table for the Bears/Colts.

LOL    So they have to be 100% right on every pick of a draft in order for your point to be proven?  All while you won't name one name to be that "Blue Chip" player?

Wow..

You’re just an ignorant troll. Try to be more than a hack. You think we should abandon pick 6, in favor of more picks where we consistently miss. You go on Walter football and believe the scouting reports. That’s fine, enjoy. Don’t pretend the draft is exact science. There will be talent at 6 at qb, wr, OL, CB, TE that isn’t there.

you’re the genius who said we should package 6 to get rid of Carson. Nobody cares what you think and I don’t give a F what you want me to answer or not

For sure. Seemed like he was the last real good/local talent we had

Towards the end, they would strap him to his chair for the broadcasts. His last night on the air, Jim Gardner held Papa's head in his hands and kissed him on the forehead. I still choke up when I think of that.

It's this simple.  Trade down.  Pick up a few extra picks.  Take BPA...every spot along the way.  Suck in 2022.  Get a QB...if Hurts isn't the guy.

That's a hell of a draft. Slater might be the second best OL this year, after Sewell, and Davis is terrific.

Jackie Slater??    Oh Hell Yes!!

All kidding aside.  I would much prefer a 10 year starting LT over a WR or TE anytime.  So....yes!  But the concern I have with him is the same I have with Parsons, Chase and others.  They took the year off.  We all have seen players improve or decline from one year to the next.  It makes me nervous drafting a guy who hasn't played a game in well over a year.

Actually I think Slater best projects as an interior lineman. Plug him in at guard and kick Seumalo over to C. I've seen a few breakdowns suggest Slater could best fit as a C as well. @justrelax, do you have any insight on that?

Jokes on you they are coming back at some point next year like peters, sproles and ajayi that came before them
