I Heard Adam Schefter say it this morning on 97.5 with my very own ears broskie.

It's interesting that we are hearing that now and it's not been said previously.  I mean McLane had a whole story about the breakdown of the relationship that included Wentz killing plays that Doug called.  It didn't say they weren't talking.  Santoliquito reported Pederson reigned Carson in towards the end of the season to try to fix his play.  I mean that doesn't happen if they're not talking.  Pederson said his relationship was good.  It's also not consistent with Carson wanting to go to Indy where he's going to be with Press Taylor who Doug was clearly close to and allegedly keeping him was the reason he was fired.  I would urge you to take a more critical look at things.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Point being?  They are a mess now.  A big reason for that is Andy Reid, who is a lock for the HOF.

If you can't see how bad the Eagles are trending down and the involvement of Jeff Lurie then I can't help you.

69-58-1 since Andy Reid left. Winning record and a Super Bowl. Trending down? You’re just negative. It’s now a transition year. Every team has them.

In 2022 we will have more cap space then we’ve had in 10 years. We have a young coaching staff that has proven to develop players. The future is exciting.

Hey @4for4EaglesNest, what's the over under in minutes before Bacarty asks this other idiot for a combat waiver and to meet up? Also, a secondary bet on when Bacarty asks this guy to make a bet with him on some ridiculous scenario? I'll set the line at 10 minutes...

I love popping in and seeing combat waiver talk

Meh, Wentz is gone, he'll probably have a nice run in Indy, but will be nothing special, 2020 was an aberration, but so was 2017, after 5 years he is what he is, a good but not elite QB.

Of course the Eagles lack young talent, that's why they're rebuilding. But coaching has been a big issue, outside of the OL, what talent have they developed the last three years?

RB - Scott, WR - none, TE - none, DL - Sweat, LB - Edwards, Singleton, DB - Mills. Good teams aren't built with just the first two days of the draft, they have multiple starters/top reserves that are coached up. I think they had decided to fire Doug, but gave him the interview out of respect for his tenure with the organization, but he was clueless about a rebuild.

In retrospect, since it's now obvious they were prepared to trade Wentz, I doubt they choose Sirianni to "fix" Wentz. He was the first candidate to blow away his interview, and after seeing his coaching staff, I think his vision for a teaching staff that can coach up players for a rebuilding team sold them. You don't hire a HC to fix a QB, then put him into play a week or two later - rather, it's more likely Siri was on board with Hurts over Wentz.

Eagles do their research, given the failure rate of top ten QBs, I'd be surprised if they used #6 on one unless they were absolutely in love, too many other holes. Better off seeing what you have with Hurts.

The key to 2021 is player development, they add some more draft picks and probably have 10 or so in both 2021 and 2022, but the key will be the ability to find players off trash heaps.

I mean, you can't be serious with this. They let him give the year end press conference, do exit interviews and waited a week to show him respect? So they purposely delayed their coaching search by a week even though they had decided to fire Doug? If that is true, Roseman and Lurie should be arrested.

Sorry, but there is no way that is correct.

Yeah, I think I'll take Adam Schefter's word for it over your opinion but thanks for the advice. It's not like he's the most respected and connected NFL insider in the business or anything so I probably shouldn't.

Oh boy. So the situation that just went down with Wentz isn’t a cause for concern? Ok

Howie, Pederson, Wentz. 2 of 3 had to go. Lurie chose Howie because last time he relegated him, there was a $hitstorm

Use that same mentality for Wentz because its becoming obsessive.

That would be your opinion and frankly idc

Not if Wentz and Doug helped create the situation. Which we don’t know. They are both gone and Howie is still here. There is probably a better reason for that then Lurie losing it though.

Believe what you want but I see a team that is getting young with coaches that have proven to develop people and a ton of cap space after this year. I’m excited.

But they aren't because it's pretty damn tough for the head coach and qb not to talk

I don't know how that's even possible. Seems more like character assassination

The haters have been out in full force though

Who knows what is true and what isn't.  But what do you expect Doug to say?  That was going to be his answer regardless since he wants to coach again.  Maybe if he was 75 and had coached for 30 years and was going to retire, he would be more candid.  But he would never admit to that.  Guy never tells the truth.  So and so is week to week....guy doesn't come back on the field until the following year.

Sure, we only believe what we want to. And again the proof is they are both gone and Howie is still here.

Yesterday Mosher and caplan talked about the Eagles have an issue where they keep having leaks come out for about a decade now. It’s true anytime the Eagles make a poor decision or do a move they think it’s going to be put in a poor light by the fan base they leak his story so that you don’t look as badly upon them for doing what they did. this isn’t just a Carson Wentz thing. This goes all the way back to even McNabb when they treated him they did that. It’s a routine for them

i’m almost positive we have fans in our Fanbase that the Eagles could feed dog crap too and tell him it’s pudding and the fans will just believe it even though it smells like dog crap

I think Eagles fans are a tad bit Philly centric - what organization doesn't have constant leaks? Heck, the CIA has leaks!

Reporters need stories and cultivate sources, those sources leak information, sometimes strategically, sometimes to settle scores, sometimes b/c it inflates their sense of self-importance. And sometimes reporters actually do a little research and find things outs, it's not like DeSean's past was a state secret.

I never said I believed the report.  I was stating that regardless of whether it was true or false, Doug would never admit it happened.  He wants another coaching job in the NFL.

I lived in philly, San Diego, Arizona and San Francisco. All of whom had football teams and other organizations. None of them had as many leaks or the things you have come out with the Eagles. But of course in your world it’s everyone else but the eagles. So not unexpected. Again I’m amazed you are able to keep up with the amount of spins you have daily.

It’s funny two of my friends a diehard Packers and panthers fans both text me last week asking why do the eagles always have these crazy stories come out. So it might just not be philly fans.

Honestly, I’ll rag on Howie all day long, it’s fun, but the vitriol really needs to start being directed towards Lurie now.

He can end this madness any time he wants with two simple words "you’re fired.”

Dude’s been a good owner the majority of his time here, but things have gone off the rails and he needs to get it back under control.

Sorry, but there is no way that is correct.

There is this myth that a coaching search is about nailing the hot candidate - as history shows, the flavor of the month HC candidate usually falls flat on his face, remember the outrage when Gase and McAdoo got jobs while the Eagles "dithered," settling for Pederson. How'd that work out?

I think Lowie were very deliberate in their HC search, and kept looking until they found someone they were comfortable with as the new HC. They weren't going to be rushed, after AR, Chip and Pederson, they had a good idea what they wanted (a coach with a plan).

Eh I think the East Coast media is a bit of a monster, especially in comparison to anywhere else in the country. New York, Boston, Philly are just brutal media markets to deal with when it comes to sports. And not just football, all sports really.

Afan, lets say for argument's sake that Howie blows the next two drafts. Do you fire him at that point, if the team that was in rebuild mode still looks like a bottom 10 unit heading into the 2023 season? Do you give him another year after that to try and fix it? At what point does the rope run out? And I'm not saying he will blow the next two drafts, I really hope he doesn't.

I don’t disagree with that the fans are much harder to deal with and the media market is a monster. However other organizations don’t have nearly the amount of leaks coming out as the eagles do routinely and nor stories where it’s leaked to the media the day desean gets released about gang ties. Not only that we had a story come out about Jeremy maclin didn’t get a contract cause of golf.

Does anyone in SD or Arizona even know the name of their football team? 😝

There's a bit more media attention to the Eagles than in teams where football is more of an afterthought.

I care because its amazing to me that a grown man who is clearly the more talented QB cant handle a little competition.

I wonder how the Colts players will like Wentz if they see him get preferential treatment and he doesn't have to earn anything.  Stay tuned...

They seem pretty excited that he is their qb.

Agreed, the leaks are ridiculous. I wonder what leaks more, the Eagles or greend? (Sorry old timer!)
