Not sure why it would take an "NFL Insider” to break the news that the Eagles will do their due diligence and a full prospect analysis on each of these QBs — and Lawrence will be included.

Can’t wait for posters in here to start losing their sh!t when they find out the Eagles will be going to these guys’ pro days, and especially when they bring them in for official visits, if protocols allow

Why would anyone "lose ther sh!t" about bringing in a better QB for a review?  We have some significant limitations at that position now.

Disclaimer: I don't think they bring in a QB early, because it requires Howie to check his ego.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

What if we dropped back two or three spots to add a 2nd rounder and went like this

Pick 6 - Kyle Pitts

Pick 37 - Wyatt Davis

Pick 39 or 40 - Rondale Moore

I think that would setup our offense nicely and spend the rest of the picks trying to focus on defense

Yes, yes, and yes.

I want no part of Fields.

To me, Lance and Wilson are the same prospects.  Athletic guys with big arms who are low on grade-able experience but have a chance to be great.  The nuance underneath that...I haven’t seen enough to say.

We are going to win 3-4 games with our starter.  If he goes down, I want someone that I know will lose the game for us.

I don't either.  Which means he'll end up being really, really good somewhere else.

Someone on here was already lamenting when the Eagles sent a rep to Trevor Lawrence’s throwing session.

Really?  Missed those posts.  What exactly was the offensive action?  Not supporting Hurts?  We've already seen the loyalty that Howie has to QBs.

Some of the football character issues concern me with Wilson.  Some talk of him being extremely cocky and know-it-all.  He has the tools.  But I saw one comparison that he's Johnny Manziel with a stronger arm and no drugs.

That attitude and personality could be beneficial if he takes well to coaching. I'd rather have someone arrogant and confident at QB, but also be very receptive to their coaching.

How would we drop back and still pick at 6?

And hard pass.

Sorry 8 or 9.  What don't you like?

I kind of disagree.

You have to be able to do what you want when you want to do it.  Great offenses don't "take what the defense gives them." Everyone knows the Chiefs are going to air it out. Everyone knew the Warner/Faulk/Bruce/Holt Rams were going to air it out. Everyone knew the 90's Cowboys were going to run the ball. They just couldn't be stopped because they had superior talent.

"taking what they give you" should be situational at best, and is defeatist at worst.  I want to give the defense something they can't stop.

Who won the Superbowl?

A dark horse first round pick I could see the Eagles going with... Christian Barmore. Only a redshirt sophomore, played great in CFB playoffs, Eagles love DTs, great size, Cox is over 30. Could definitely see it happening, even at 6.

The team with a better pass rush going against two backup OTs.

Would have to trade down to the 20’s to justify that one.

Well, we did draft a mid-round project QB in the 2nd last year.  Just sayin'.

Exactly what I been saying about Pitts. I would not be mad drafting him at 6.

I know @Jenkins27 would love this draft.  @Outlaw and @Ray75, thoughts ??

I could be wrong but I think that’s a guy who is going to shoot up draft boards. The most consistent way to win a game defensively, imo, is generating a pass rush from the interior. 3 down DTs are the most valuable position on defense.

*Wouldn't trade him for less than a 2nd/3rd* -- made a typo.

Dillard's lack of positional versatility absolutely makes him tradeable, but definitely not for pennies. Between now and March 2022 a decision has to be made on Mailata, so that's another factor. If Mailata develops and his back checks out, he won't be cheap.

I'm not ready to put Lane Johnson in the ground just yet.

If they were going to trade him IMO they should expect fair value, no need to give him away at a discount just because you already have Mailata. Never got to see him play LT for any length of time, might be worth a first to a needy team and LT is a premium position. I guess cheap insurance if JM or Lane are out. Whatever Stoutland thinks though

Bateman is gonna start to rise up teams boards. Richie Grant I like at 43 don’t know he last that long but it’s a nice pick.

Overall I like it just wanna know if the Eagles get a QB as. Vet or not.

Yup. Add another DT to Howie's collection when there are way more immediate needs and this guy isn't Aaron Donald

Now that one might do it for me.  Not sure Id be able to participate in following the 2021 season at that point.

I need to be convinced that Pitts is vastly superior to Eric Ebron, Vernon Davis, OJ Howard, Noah Fant, and Evan Engram.

Not saying he isn’t.  But if you draft him #6, he needs to be vastly superior to those guys.  He needs to compare to guys like Andre Johnson, Julio Jones, Megatron.  C’mon...that’s the skill set you are looking for when drafting a pass catcher top 6.

Otherwise trade down, draft a qb if it’s one you like, or draft Sewell.

Kyle Pitts is from Philly.  So now the obsession starts to make a little sense.  But let’s just say he runs sub 4.5.  I still don’t see him as a Vernon Davis kind of freak.  Davis ran a sub 4.4.  Pitts is a few inches taller than Davis was.  Guess where Davis was picked.  #6 overall.  Had a good long career.  But never went over a 1,000 yards receiving. Was never a generational player or a cornerstone to a championship.  Those certainly are not requisites for drafting anyone at #6. But I’ll argue until I am blue in the face, you don’t use key draft equity for a pass catcher unless your team is pretty much set.  We’re far from that.  I get the guy is a talented.  Makes no sense for the Eagles.  Not now.

I don’t really care about the defense.  Set the table along the OL, then get your qb and weapons, whichever opportunity presents itself first.

Franchise players don’t exist on defense anymore.  An Aaron Donald or JJ Watt would be nice, but they have combined for 0 rings and they are a lot harder to find than elite offensive players with the way this game is now played.

Here's a scenario for #6. Say the QBs don't go early. Say we're not interested in any of the QBs. Chase, Smith, Pitts, and Sewell go off the board 2-5. You can't trade out for some reason. There are no takers. Who do you draft?
