I don't know what to believe with how or when Lurie meddles and what direct decisions he's making. But if someone wants to criticize him for how disastrous last season was, then you have to give him credit for his overall successes throughout the past 20 years.

Assuming his involvement has been consistent over the years or has it ratcheted up?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Technically not correct.  Even though we have the 28th comp pick, we also have the 32nd ( last ) comp pick.

So we’re picking Mr Irrelevant this year? Crap. Gotta pay attention til the final pick. Sheesh.

Yeah but mr. irrelevant might get canceled cause it might offended the last pick’s feelings.

Listened to Avant’s podcast, and I came away feeling really good about Reagor. It’s a must listen.

The biggest takeaways: He wants to be great, but he’s raw. He said once he knows what he’s doing out there (knowing coverages, leverage etc) he’s going to be really good. Avant- said he got pissed at him a couple of times because he quit on routes because he didn’t expect the ball to come his way, but that he ended up beating the coverage and the throw was made to open him up more.

Tried damned hard to make JJAW sellable.  Comments by Avant on his agility fit what I have been saying. Interesting observation about drafting and signing similar body types.

It's the 6th round. So would be Mr Compensatory Irrelevant.

But that was wrong anyway. Chicago has the last comp pick in the 6th. Howie can't even get that right.

They have 40 million now for 2022, but they only have 39  players under contract, and that number will be reduced by the time they get under the cap.

2023, they will have less than 100 million after the restructures, and only have 24 players under contract.  Some of those players, Graham for example, could retire, which would then add 2.4 million to his cap hit.  Once all the restructures are complete, I will post the chart on Howie's method continuing to cripple future cap years.

There are tons of premier FA's you could sign in any year.  Problem is, we are not even in a position to sign middle to low end FA's due to the mess your hero has created.

Ten draft choices this year and next year. 39 + 18 =57.

What makes you think howie  will hit on 16 out of  16 picks

And the corresponding salaries for those players, this year and next year.  Next year, the cap numbers for the players we draft, minus comp picks, is 11.284 million.

F Dallas in the A how do they qualify for 4 picks? One in each round

They somehow lost 4 starters last season.  I only remembered Byron Jones (who is definitely their 3rd round comp pick) and Robert Quinn (probably their 4th).  They also lost Jeff Heath and Maliek Collins, both on defense.  It definitely explains why they were so atrocious on that side of the ball.  I hope it continues this season.

Byron Jones, Robert Quinn, Randal Cobb and Jeff Heath.

Update: The NFL plans to send a revised list of 2021 comp picks to clubs, fixing a mistake on the original list. The new rule says the #49ers are supposed to get one third-rounder in each of the next three drafts for losing Robert Saleh and Martin Mayhew, not two picks this year.

He won’t nor perhaps his successor, but that also doesn’t allot for UDFAs, potential extensions or a random UFA or SFA pickup either. Don’t know where the 39 comes from.  Probably of the top 53 players.  Right now there are around 80 players on the roster.  Three will be gone with the league new year and probably at least 2 more.  I figure Goodwin is as good as gone.

So what?  NFL is seeking to double the TV contracts and they may get close to that.

Well they’re going to keep getting comp picks because they can’t afford to sign or keep anyone else

Don’t they have to stick?

Hahaha.  The best.  My personal favorite of recent memory was week 17 in 2019 when the Cowboys were beating the piss out of the Foreskins.  Then he looked up at the scoreboard saw the Eagles were spanking the Giants.  He looked helpless and pathetic.  I think I took 2 shots of Jack Fire to that beautiful moment.

The only difference between Jerry Jones and Jeffrey Lurie is that Jones is outspoken about it. Lurie tries to keep the image of an owner who doesn't meddle.
