Adoree Jackson is waaaaay too soft to play for Gannon.

I think the more important part to consider is..........WE HAVE NO CAP ROOM. LOL.

Why does everyone think we are going to get a name player every time one is released. Come on people, lets get real.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Maybe nothing comes of this for the Giants but that would have been a smart addition for the Eagles at that price.

The Giants could be a contender to trade up for Sewell if you think about it.  They have Saquan coming back from his ACL, I'd assume he's going to be a beast again.  Evan Ingram is a weapon (despite his drop against us), Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton are very good WR.  Now they added Dante Pettis and John Ross...2 BURNERS yet to maximize on that talent.  If they can protect Daniel Jones that offense has a chance to put up some serious points.

I can also see NYG making a move up for Pitts.

I agree though.  With limited dollars to spend, $2.5 million to take a chance on 4.22 speed is the kind of thing the Eagles need to be looking at or like the post above, a guy like Adoree Jackson who was a playmaker at USC.  At the very least he would instantly improve the return game.

We could also bring Kelly back and line him up at TE

I think Conley might be the better prospect outside but Jackson would be good too.  He is coming off a knee injury and I don't think he's returned punts or kicks since his rookie season.

oh really?  I didn't realize that.  I was thinking he still did and that was the most attractive part of his game from what I remember.

Easier to fix than we think.  Give me a CB and FS in the first two days of the draft.  That’s  CBs - Slay, rookie and Maddox in the slot. S - That’s rookie, Wallace with Epps as the nickel S.  If in day 3 a CB is the BPA, grab him.  Best of Arnold or Riley (I like Riley but Howie likes Arnold) at S. Best of James, Jacquet, rookie (like Daniels for example), UDFA, SFA (including LeBlanc) fills out the rest of the CBs.  Jacquet seems to fit what Gannon liked as CB. Riley close to that size at S.

Yeah, we've done so well drafting the secondary in the past few years that we are going to refill in one year...with the draft?  I bet that felt good typing though.

They should be looking at options at CB and DT.  They will have space.  I don't think that Jackson or Conley is going to be a break the bank type of signing.

Honestly.....I don't.  Not going to pretend to know what it means for the cap this year.  But he can go, as far as I'm concerned.

Why would you want him gone. He’s only 25 and we have no one to replace him. There’s no reason to add another hole to fill on this roster.

Agreed. He's a slightly above average player who can't stay healthy.

It means he has to go today, or we have a guaranteed 10 million cap hit.

Cuts will be fast and furious soon , need to be under cap by 4 tomorrow

I mean he would be a better option at outside CB than Avonte.  I don't think signing him keeps the team from adding a CB early in the draft.  It just makes it less desperate.

What bank accepts deposits of Schefter quotes?

Because he is just a body....IMHO.  And I'm a Vols fan.  But he gets hurt.....often (who doesn't on this team).  He is not very physical....he's small.  He takes snaps away from Sweat.  And I am on record as saying, I would be fine with turning over a large portion of the roster.  2021 is a lost cause.  By the time we are good again, Barnett will be 28-29.  I'd rather get a younger guy who has more upside than him, possibly in the draft.  But I am not tied to anyone on this roster.....except Mailata.

I agree with the injury concerns. He isn’t "taking snaps away from Sweat” though. It’s been well documented Sweat cannot be a full time starter because of his knee. Given BG’s age, him and Sweat will likely be rotating a lot. That leaves the other DE spot where Barnett has played fairly well when he’s been healthy. IMO there’s no reason to give up on him based on his age and production. Even if next year is a wash, the year after he will only be 26.

A lot of people are assuming Lurie is going to be cool with this team tanking for 2-3 years and I just don’t see it. Yes he may give Sirianni a bit of slack this upcoming season but nothing historically from Lurie shows he’ll be cool with more than that. Even for this upcoming year, if the team goes anything below 5-6 wins, I think there’s going to be a lot of pressure by the media and fans to make a change.

Schefter is overrated

Maybe if they go below 5-6 wins in 2022 but 5-6 wins or less should be the realistic outcome for this team in 2021.  It's a bad team and a very young and inexperienced coaching staff.  It won't be pretty in 2021, the hope should be that by the end of the season they start showing some improvement.

The thing is, the Eagles rotate their D-Ends so much that it's almost silly to pay more than 1 "starter".  BG played the most at DE with 70% of the snaps.  Barnett played under 50%.  I don't want to invest $10 million/year in a guy playing 50% of the snaps and playing average at best when he does play.  Not that I want to but you can get nearly the same production with a guy like Vinny Curry here on a 1-year $2 million contract and a rookie combining to take up his snaps.

You can check my post from a few weeks ago discussing this issue.  Until the Eagles have a DE worthy of a long term deal, there is no reason to lock up an average player just to fill the hole.  Rent some veterans until you find the next guy.  A long term deal just hampers the Eagles and doesn't let them make other moves.

I'm seeing a lot of comments in here about Conley but I'm curious I thought the Eagles new defensive scheme was more Zone focused vs Man to Man?  Conley from what I remember is best suited for Man

Some good looking DE/DT prospects going to be there in the mid rounds (3-5).

Lock up Barnett and extend on a hometown discount. Grab a few DL in the draft.

As long as the Eagles aren't one of the teams.  That would be great.

I hope you are right but I fear the worst. I won't believe it until they turn the draft card in and it's something other than a QB.

Andy Dalton is the new Bears starting QB, lol.

No chance in hell we are getting Brissett
