I disagree.  When Snyder sells.  They will do a true rebranding.  They want to sell merch.  Red Wolves would be cool.  WFT is stupid.

The Washington Scandals.  That's a name I can get behind.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Maybe Flacco the statue will teach Hurts to run less

How is Hurts when it comes to throwing contested passes?  Both Pitts and Chase excel at going up for the ball.

Again where did I say you couldn’t win a Super Bowl without 1000 yard wide receiver? Go look at what I said. I never said that.

and just so you know if I added ward and Edelman who were 25 and 28 yards short ( and Edelman didn’t play a couple weeks due injury and do to clinching otherwise he would’ve) of 1000 yards as wide receivers that number goes up to 71% who have won. And if I really wanted to I can add in two tight ends on Super Bowl winning teams that went over 1000 yards which would bring it all the way up to like 81%

My whole point to you was the percentages are not in your favor going the route you wanted to go. Add on your lazy Larry Fitzgerald point about not winning a Super Bowls. Theres 13 other 1000 yard WRs in the last 21 years that have which is a better percent than your 38 who didn’t have one. Also Larry Fitzgerald probably has a Super Bowl ring right now if not for a miraculous catch by wide receiver in Holmes.

I never said you said you couldn't win without a 1000 yard WR

I simply said you don't need one to win and that using the 2015-2020 eagles as an example didn't add up.

Then you started complaining lists and stats that further prove my original point that a team doesn't need a 1000 yard WR to win a super bowl.

So now that we are in agreement on that point how bout we get back to how stupid Lowie is for signing flacco or how Pitts is too big to play WR and devonta smith is too small😁

Howie: The Eagles want more picks.
Also Howie: The Eagles overpay for Flacco to eliminate comp picks.

I think it could signal we’re not done yet with FAs.

What if the swerve here is Howie signed Flacco to mentor a similar skill set QB like....McCorkle

Makes no sense to hate the Flacco deal. Name a 2021 UFA QB contract other than Trubisky's you'd have preferred. "We could have had Trubisky!" is such a moronic thing to say.

They have -- repeatedly -- gone on record saying they value backup QB. Getting one at $3.5 million isn't ideal at all, but it's not egregious.

Marcus Mariota went back to the Raiders for pretty much the identical contract Flacco signed with the Eagles.  Howie could have/should have spoken to Mariota’s agent before he took that sizeable haircut from LV — you’d think competing with Hurts for a starting gig would have been preferable to him to competing with Derek Carr.  Mariota is almost 10 years younger than Flacco, plays a more similar style to Hurts, and has quite a bit more upside.

Let’s explore the outdated terminology of "tight end” in today’s football.  Watching film on Pitts, he lines up away from the line of scrimmage more than tight to the OL creating a strong side. Now, in today’s football, there is as much likelihood the slot lines in tight as the TE does.  The term Hback was created for "tight end” sized receiver that lined up split wide or occasionally offset in the backfield. Since the advent of the slot and Hback positions, one or the other replaces the fullback position.  Gone are the days where the TE lines up primarily on one side of the OL creating a strongside.  Gone is the day when the (split end) X, playing on the weak side, and asked to take on more blocking, the Tight End in tight on the strong side and the (flanker) Z off the line split out wide.  From my days as a kid to today, the terms split end and flanker seem antiques, like me, but the term tight end lives on.  In all fairness, Pitts seems like a hybrid split send more than a tight end.

Meh — I’m happier with Flacco over Mills tbh so I’ll call it a wash

The Eagles don’t want anyone to compete with Hurts.  I think Lurie made that pretty clear.

Then they should have just signed Mike Glennons goofy ass

But Hurts will get hurts — he plays to contact when he takes off running, which is way too often.

Flacco is competent enough that if Hurts becomes 2020 Wentz he'll start.

I just hate the process. If Flacco leaves for another team due to money, let him walk.

This team is lost.

Everything is true except the last 6 words.  Mariota sucks.  Zero upside.   Not that Joe does for obvious reasons.  But Mariota blows.

Damn I thought the Eagles were going to use a second round pick again to draft a cheap back up quarterback on a multi year contract..... that’s what you are supposed to do based off everything said last year

I still think one of the 5th round picks will be spent on Jamie Newman; he looks like a Hurts clone to me.

I would be shocked if they didn’t take a quarterback at some point in this draft. I’m guessing probably around five to round seven

Kempski isn't happy unless he's ****ing about something. He also said he'd rather have Sudfeld on vet minimum as a backup than Flacco. Of course he says that now but if Sudfeld had to play I don't think he'd be too happy.

2023 numbers are based on the expected cap with the new TV deal of 225 million.  You do know that if the cap goes up, it goes up for everyone, correct ??

Right now we are 22nd in 2022 cap space, 27th in 2023 cap space, and and 22nd in 2024 cap space.  We also have major cap hits tied to 32+ year old players, and dummy years for players who will not even be on the roster.

2024 shows we have 10 players under contract with a cap allocation of 58 million, 22% of the projected 256 million cap for that year.  I believe 5 of those are dummy years to spread out cap hits.

I realize the cap goes up for everyone. A bunch of those teams will overspend on free agents. Our goal is to develop the young talent we have on offense, draft well, and rebuild the defense. Sprinkle in a few low cost free agents. If you notice all the coaches they brought in have a good track record of developing players. I’m not worried about the cap at all.

To be perfectly honest I’m pretty sure Jimmy kempski knows the Eagles are gonna be really bad next year. So his logical is probably what’s the point of being a veteran quarterback making nice money when you’re going to be bad whether or not he’s there or not.

So last year we brought in Marty and drafted a Lamar Jackson cosplayer, and now we signed Flacco. Why are we desperately trying to be a bootleg 2018 Ravens team?

Anytime you can waste what little cap space you have to sign a backup QB that could potentially help you win six games instead of five, you gotta do it.

Lol

I think David Mills will be one of the steals of the draft

I also think Feliepe Franks gets drafted earlier than the majority expect.
