What would you trade to add Darnold to the qb factory after the Jets draft Wilson?

Kind of think the teams in on darnold are likely Carolina if they don’t believe they can move up to get to 4 where fields/Lance/jones falls, Denver, Washington. I would say New England but i don’t see them sending him there due to the division but then again if the Jets think darnold is not good then maybe they pull a mcnabb type trade. Frankly Chicago would’ve been better off waiting and not signing dalton and going after darnold and praying he lived up to his draft potential. Cause dalton isn’t a possibility as a long term answer. Even if the odds are slim darnold has a small chance.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I’d trade a late-round pick, but I think we hit our quota on wasted money for former Jets QBs.

Fair enough.  But Sanchez came to us at 28.

Darnold is the age Wentz was when he got drafted.  He was a really, really good prospect.

Things obviously went sideways with the Jets, but I’d buy that lottery ticket.

If we are going to invest in building a better team, we need to get a little creative with finding our next qb...since this time around, it won’t be from a top 5 pick.

Eagles football is a form of entertainment. Sack the QB doesn't find it entertaining anymore. Why continue watching?

I have to confess that I'm dubious about the Eagles' entertainment value for the upcoming year.

It’s funny because a very smart trade sent him over the ledge.

Just watch some more , Rousseau , he will go top 20,.. he was very good when lined up over the center , big boy , who can move , so he is more than a edge guy , to whoever said that earlier.

he never runs himself out of a play , his length is evident on so many plays

just scratching his potential

Yup, I'll stake claim to starting the Greg Rousseau fan club yesterday after I retired my Kyle Pitts club.

So many of the plays he makes you think the QB or RB is in the clear and then Rousseau dives, reaches and trips him up.  He could be a terror lined up inside.  He's my target now.

Yes, but I suspect it was building for quite some time. That and he wanted to draft Chase.

He’s a FA at the end of the year, which is problematic. I’d still send something small for him, and let him and Hurts battle it out. Even if Darnold shows nothing it’s fine. If he shows well and leaves we’re in a spot to get a decent comp pick. Guaranteeing $3.5M for Flacco probably makes it incredibly unlikely.

Sure. Still funny.

I’m guessing he likely gets similar to what the cardinals settled for when they traded Rosen. Darnold hasn’t been good but he’s also been with Gase and Bowles as head coaches. Gase is awful in Miami and with the Jets. Bad oline since he’s gotten there. I’m kind of surprised the niners if the Jets are serious at taking Wilson didn’t call and ask what the price was on darnold. LaFleur and shanahan have been rumored to really like darnold.

It’s cause he was obsessed with chase.

I'll tell you what.  If the Cowboys get Pitts, that will make my 2 favorite players in a long time (CeeDee Lamb and Pitts) that go to my most hated team, I'll be pushed closer to the edge.  I love 3 1st rounders next year but I ABSOLUTELY HATE the fact that we had the first pick in the NFCE and now we have to draft directly behind Dallas and NYG.  That means either one of those teams could play spoiler for us.

Who cares what they do?

The only thing that matters is what the Eagles do. The Cowboys got your special players and they still suck.

If I were head over heels for a player that figured to be available at 6, I’d be extremely pissed too.

But I’m not.  Didn’t like the board and value there, I do like it at 12.

Frankly if Atlanta stays at four I think they’re going to take either an offensive lineman or pitts. However i do think if pitts gets by atlanta and cincy that only Carolina stands in the way of him being right there for Dallas. I tend to believe Carolina trades up to get a QB or takes someone like jones or if fields falls (i wouldn’t be surprised if atlanta goes Sewell, cincy chase, dolphins smith/waddle and lions i don’t think take fields or jones). I would say Dallas should take a cornerback but last year Jerry Jones prove he will just take the best player available even if it’s not a position of great need. they definitely could use an upgrade at tight end (also can play WR) but that would be another luxury type pick because they badly need help on defense.

There’s no way the Jets at two don’t take a quarterback or trade out. If they take another positional player instead of trading out of two they are insane. With what Miami got for three they easily could get that and possibly more for two from somebody like Carolina or New England or Denver or even the Eagles

I agree, it’s not logical at all but it would be fun to see someone throw a giant wrench into things

Well, obviously Howie is reading the Blog because he already traded down in the first for additional 2022 draft capital so he will trade the Colts’ 3rd for a second next year.  I expect to see more trades, including possibly going deeper in round 1 for more draft capital and likely in 2022.  Even willing to take 2023 picks.

I truly hope so.

12 for a late first, a 2nd, and a 2023 first? That would be intriguing. There would have to be a QB on the board someone wanted though.

Because they are slowly building talented teams and adding top end talent.  They go after elite players instead of trying to be cute.

They NEED a tight end.  Jerry is probably giddy knowing that we aren't there at 6 anymore to potentially take him.

That would be arguably more value than we got for 6.

Getting another 2023 1 and a 2 for a trade down would be incredible.

Id drop from 12 just for a 2023 1st.

Unless Waddle is on the board. Then I just take him.

I couldn’t even imagine if the Jets took someone like chase at 2. I highly doubt it would be chase though if that happened. I’m guessing it’s Sewell with how douglas wants to build his team.  To be honest I don’t think the Jets are ready for a quarterback with that roster. My bigger concern with the elf on the shelf with a headband selected by the Jets is that he has the same type of issues his first year and maybe 2022 that Sam Darnold had With talent around him not being where it needs to in order to be ultimately successsful (coaching i think is going to be better though)

Using the Cowboys as a model organization because they paired Lamb with Cooper? GTFOH, lol. They have NOTHING on defense and have gotten bent over on their last 5 major contract extensions, including paying Zeke who immediately declined.

The Howie hatred has reached an irrational level.

Would depend on the price, but yeah. Just tell Howie a 3rd will get them a 1st in 2 years and he'll make it happen.

Eh dalton Schultz isn’t an elite tight end but he’s also not some bum either. He had 63 receptions for 615 yards and 4 tds last year with Dak only playing like 5 games. I don’t think he’s great but he’s also improving and looks solid. They could go for an upgrade. However they have much much MUCH bigger needs on defense particularly corner.

If the Eagles don’t take Brennan Eagles in the 7th I’m going to lose it and quit the boards

All i know is they better hit on 12. Not sure next year if the pick is underwhelming they could go to the podium and with a straight face say we wanted other guys but they got selected before us.

Found the Sack that QB burner.

I would say it with you if we weren't one of the worst teams in the NFL.  The Giants are going to be good.  They have a very nice roster.  Their defense is legit.  They have one of the best defensive backfield rooms in the NFL, they have above average linebackers and a very solid D-Line.  They improved WR, They get Barkley back and brought in Devontae Booker as a solid backup.  Kyle Rudolph, assuming his contract stays is a great #2 tight end to Evan Ingram.  Daniel Jones isn't terrible and they can improve their O-Line in the draft.  The NYG are worlds better than the Eagles.

Everyone thought the Cowboys wouldn't be able to sign any of their guys.  They have Amari Cooper locked up, Dak locked up, Zeke (overpaid) but locked up.  They have CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.  Their O-line is comparable to ours with age and injuries but still a good unit.  They have a very nice young center who we should have drafted.  They need help on defense but their corners are young with loads of potential.  They need to reload the D-Line and figure out linebacker.  The Cowboys are better than the Eagles.

I NEVER want to see our rivals get elite players.  I hate it.  I hate it more when they get elite players who I have loved watching in college.  I'm a bigger college fan than I am an Eagles fan these days.  Trading back means that the Cowboys and Giants have their choice at elite talent before we do.  You say don't worry about what they do, just what the Eagles do.  I worry more about what the Eagles do because the Cowboys and Giants draft players I want the Eagles to get while the Eagles draft trash.
