I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Dang that possibly takes Car out of QB pick at 8 then...

Love that deal for the Jets. Dislike it for Carolina. They're going to have to make a decision on the 5th year option before he plays a down for them.

Yup.  Leaves Denver and trade up candidates, Pats, Bears, and Steelers.  Makes 5 QBs before us much less likely.

I don't think it's a grave as it appears.  The Eagles had until March 17th to either cut Barnett or redo his deal.

No doubt he will be there his 5th year . Brady will get him straight in Carolina , plus better weapons

I think that trade is a good deal for both teams. Darnold will finally have a good coach. He’s an upgrade over Bridgewater.

Much better than a trade up for a player.  I think that would mean they are likely to look at OT or CB at 8 and that may make them a trade back candidate.

Slater or Sewell at 8. They're both worthy of top 12 picks, but I'm happy we likely won't have to pick one of them.

Darnold should flourish under Brady, good trade for them.  He might be the best USC product in about 30 years, I think he can be a good NFL QB.

My 1st thought was the 5th year option as well.

If this works out for Carolina, what a mess for the Jets. Darnold is 23! Crazy.

Lance or Fields will be there at #12. Now does Howie pull the trigger? I say yes.

Wow Carolina.

I'm guessing they have made that decision.

I understand that point of view, but I don't want them to go in that direction. What I mean is, I would rather draft a center to be the successor of Kelce and leave Seumalo where he is. It's not so much that I think he can't do it, but he's been at guard for a while now and does okay there. I don't want to assume he can play center well and then draft a tackle at 12 and force him inside to guard.

If Seumalo blows at center we have a huge hole and are either stuck with him there or have to sit one of he or Slater to plug someone else in.

We need some extra beef on the line, I'm not disputing that. I'd just rather not do it at 12.

Concur on keeping Seumalo at G, get a C to develop and replace Kelce next season.  Kelce has been talking about retiring for a while already.  He may have more than one season left.  At which point, he can be a back-up to the new C or subs at G.

5th year options are a little different now under the new CBA. They become fully guaranteed when exercised

I think we will trade down. If we wanted a QB, I don't think we would've moved down this far to begin with.  I think the Patriots are a trade up possibility. They could try to jump near the top 10 or even to possibly Detroit for a QB.

I still think 5 QBs go in the top 10, but if a QB falls to 12 I rush to trade out. Get more 2022 picks.

I don't think we wanted a QB at 6, but 12 with an extra first in hand makes drafting a QB more enticing.

The #Jets now have 21 picks in the next two drafts, with seven of them falling in the first two rounds. Plenty for Joe Douglas to work with

Unfortunately #13 is the spot that teams will call to trade up for a QB.  With Herbert in place they would be a cheaper trade up option.

Sure, but the Eagles are motivated sellers and could still reasonably draft a QB that falls.

If all 4 playmakers, the 2 OTs, and the top CB is gone by the time the Eagles pick, barring a very enticing trade compensation, the Eagles might not be left with any coherent choice but to draft the 5th QB still left.

Even so, I could see Howie trading down again.  He might decide to try to get three picks within the top 50 vs. just two.  We only have one 2nd rounder.  Most of our extra picks are in the late rounds. So, he might opt to trade down to around 20 and try to get another pick to help gain an additional pick in the 2nd.  I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to move down for Barmore and then use the two second rounders on guys like Samuel Jr and a WR.  I'm not saying he should do that, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did that.
