He goes to Stanford, I'm willing to bet he's a smart dude.

I have no idea how smart he is or isn't...my guess is that his football IQ can't be that bad if he has the fastest release time in NCAA football.

But going to Stanford and playing football at Stanford are two different things.  Big time D1 football players are basically unpaid professional athletes that represent schools.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

That was my first reaction. But there's smart and then there's football smart. He may need time to develop football smarts.

Dan Marino being the best all-time example of someone who is a genius at the line of scrimmage yet also an idiot.

Mills is not lacking in the football intelligence area .

I'd rather start Flacco for a year and cultivate Mills than do this obligatory dance with Hurts.

I hadn’t read much about the Parsons off-field stuff. This seems to go into a little more detail than I had seen previously. It includes Gross-Matos.

well, that wont fly in the NFL. He will have to grow up quickly.

Gross-Matos wasnt badly affected, if at all, by this. I guess Parsons wont be either.

I think a team like the raiders would also be in play.

If Parsons is on the board at #11 Gettleman should grab him.  Not sure if he’s smart enough to, but he should

I’m not sure if that stuff was completely out there when Gross-Matos was drafted. This story was posted afterward. Not sure about his previous complaints.

Parsons and Phillips are liable to drop way past where the mocks have them projected. Can't trust either of them for different reasons. I wouldn't use a top 80 pick on Phillips.

I can't figure out why Azeez Ojulari isn't getting top-15 love. Maybe lack of scheme versatility? Seems like an easy home run pick.

I still refuse to believe they did that trade without a clear choice

Yeah, the odds that they paid three 1s and a 3 for the right to decide between the third or fourth QB taken seems like a stretch.

I wonder which would shake up the draft more though. There’s always been some doubt it’s Jones but the majority I feel accepted it and played out the draft starting with #4. If it’s really Lance, Jones becomes a wildcard

After trade of Brown the Ravens now have picks 27 and 31 in first round which equates to 1280 draft points.  If Sewell or Slater drop to 12 would you accept 27 and 31 for 12 and either 150 or 189?

I would actually be shocked if the eagles don’t select a QB somewhere in this draft as a developmental guy. Flacco is here for a year. We also only have two QBs on the roster currently.

I’ve felt like for a while Lance wasn’t out of the picture there. I wouldn’t bet on Lance being the guy they take but i wouldn’t be shocked if they went Lance and not Mac jones. I could see them keeping Jimmy G for this year and letting lance develop like the chiefs did with alex smith and Mahomes. I wouldn’t bet on Lance but i didn’t think it was out of the realm that select him when they trade was made.

that said i think they know who they want. I don’t think it’s down to them deciding anything between those two. If they select lance it’s cause they wanted him at the time of that trade.

Wonder what Jacob Eason could be had for. Carson doesn’t like competition 🙃

I am not really a Lance fan and I was on the Jones bandwagon long before most......but Lance is the kind of player a smitten GM might trade three 1's for...I don't really see someone doing that for Jones.

Even if Jones is the next Tom Brady, the original Tom Brady went in round 6.

At any position, most GM's understandably want something tangible and physical.  Once arm strength exceeds a certain threshold, it's mostly just for showing off on 2-3 highlights per year.  But it's still a measuring stick.

Your draft isn’t bad but that return after originally having #6 overall just feels gross

The Eagles don't need to have an 11 player draft.  They drafted 10 players to a crappy roster last year and still had to cut 2 of them.

What they actually need is to end up with 3 starters moving forward, 1-2 of whom are high end starters.  Maybe a little ambitious, but they are in dire need of a home-run type draft.

The best way to accomplish that goal is to not trade any lower in round 1 and to use their glut of nearly worthless picks in rounds 5-7 to move a little higher with their 2, 3, 3 picks, maximizing their chances of getting a higher end player in that range.

Would love to get this dude on day 3. A little short at 6’2 but has great hand technique and quickness.
