But, he was an offensive coach.  So, you would expect more offensive stability as long as the HC stays.

Definitely would. Losing his two best offensive assistants hurt.l him badly. Does Brady have the network to avoid a brain drain, or is he smart enough to be the brains as is?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

These dbags like Florio bashing our franchise saying nobody would want to come here then he hypes the Jets? The Jets? Lol Johnson wax or whatever the f his name is is the worst fing owner. He hired Gase after the Dolphins fired him. Lmao

When you suck, you suck... lean into the tank with a bad punter.   Might get a comp pick for Johnston.

Johnston didn't have a great year.

No clue.  I learned about him last offseason.

He was better than most the rest of the roster.

With the current NFL rules, is that possible though? Are the rules not set up to reward good offense and neutralise good defense?

Still no reason to not get into the top 3. I never said I didn't want a good offense too. It doesn't have to be one or the other. The Ravens have a great defense and offense.

Saleh is my third choice after Joe Brady and Lincoln Riley, and probably the "safest" projection. Intense and holds players accountable, but is also smart and thoughtful. If he has a good offensive plan, I'm all over him.

Florio has always been an Eagle hater. I stopped reading PFT over 10 years ago because in every article about the Eagles he would always have to work in that stupid Santa incident from like 1968, throwing batteries or something dumb like that.

Smith tomorrow. Kinda surprised no coach signed anywhere yet.

Sure. Both would be great. But realistically, you'd expect a HC with an DC background to put out a better defense. My preference would be to put out the best O you possibly can and I think having a HC with an OC background gives you a better chance of doing so.

McVay deserves a ton of credit. He fired Wade Phillips and went out and got no-name Brandon Staley off Fangio’s staff because he respected how that defense was run. A year later and Staley is arguably the best DC in the league. I’m not sure a lot of HCs would have done that. We know Doug wouldn’t have.

I don't really want a defensive guy like Saleh, but he is one of the big names.  If they were to land him, then it would be hard to argue that top guys are staying away.

I agree I didn’t but now ....

It all depends on who he could bring on as an OC. If he can't get a great OC to come with him, then that would be a no go.  We have to get an offensive mind who can get this offense fixed and help manage the QBs. If we hire a defensive coach, then he better have a really close connection to an OC that will correct things.

Apparently Saleh and 49ers passing game coordinator Mike LaFleur are a package deal.

The problem wasn't Pederson,  the problem was Pederson's relationship with Wentz.  This was brought on by a couple things.  1 Wentz stunk, 2 horrible oline play.  3 Hurts played better, although not great. 4 why spend a #2 after giving out a franchise contact.  What you are left with, you can't cut or trade Wentz, so you have to cut Pederson.  Not saying he didn't need to go but the chances are the next coach is going  to be worse.  Wish they managed the QB situation better and kept Doug.

Since that didn't happen and they cant cut or trade Wentz,  get help at WR and Oline in the draft.   Most importantly,  get a the best medical and strength and conditioning staff you can find.

Lastly, the Eagles are below average in the draft,  not sure who has final say but they need to go or just trade down and go with quantity not quality.  The East is winnable next year.

I honestly don't know much about LaFleur to say yea or nay to it. I know that in the Buddy Era we had a great defense, but the offense was dependent on Randall's mobility. I just want us to have good coaching on both sides of the ball.

If LaFleur comes here and the offense is great he'll get hired somewhere else within a year. That's why it's always best to get an offensive head coach. Constantly disrupting your lead offensive coach and QB's rapport is detrimental to a team. You want someone who will stick around and create a special relationship with your QB.

Imagine LaFleur coming here, getting a ton out of Hurts or Wentz, then being plucked away and having to go on another OC search. We saw how that turned out with the Falcons.

Liked Mayo as a player...not sure about him as a coach. Just doesn't seem experienced enough yet to lead a team, IMO

And he stuck with the run despite letting go of Gurley. Another move Doug just wouldn't do

As others have said, could be a shrewd way to get Mayo as a DC hire.  Belichick has two of his kids as defensive coaches on the staff, so it’s unlikely he’s getting a DC opportunity there

Inwould think any HC with a brain would keep our OL coach
