But, But, But he has POTENTIAL. Come on you dont draft players anymore that can step in and play right away. Its all about a player that sucks that has the "Tools" to be good and turning them into greatness. Makes you portfolio look better for your next job, you were smart enough to hit on 1 out of 35 potential players you drafted.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Howie only took him because someone else wanted him.

Howie wanted the good linebacker.

I think Moore would be an interesting hire although former Cowboys kind of make me sick to the stomach.

Here's another hot take. Howie already knows all the moves he has to make to get back under the cap and have room to get a player or two if he wants.

I agree he has a complete road map of what he needs to do.

Someone took all his players on his 3rd round board before our pick and he just randomly pointed  on a list of names.

That had to be one of the more moronic comments then what I hear on this message boards each day.

Caplin and Mosher said in their pod the other day that of all the teams they talked to only two had Taylor in the 5th round, and the majority had him 6th or 7th, and only one or two had him as a UDFA.

eagles took him in the 3rd. The hell is wrong with them

But the guys they really liked were drafted before him so give them credit for liking better players.

Often heard from Eagles on why they drafted a certain player, well we had heard/ belief (insert Team x that was drafting a slot or two behind them) were gonna take this player we took.

Example is now we get "We had heard the Vikings were high on Reagor and planned to draft him" Except the Vikings were visibly jubilant when Jefferson fell past the Eagles. They didn't have to "settle" for Jefferson.

We heard that about Goedert - and the Cowboys, I know we heard that about Pumphrey, and JJAW as well. I think Barnett as well.

It's like other teams like to F with Howie and tell him they really like a player so they get to watch him take that player.

Now THAT is smart GMing.

How is our scouting department not wanting to blow their Fing minds then? They do all the leg work to scout, on the road, countless hours of film watch and prep.......all to have a GM take a player that they think should have been drafted a round or two later. I know scouts probably don't make much so they can't just bark orders but hell if I would be with a team that paid for my insight but never used it. It would be one thing if the FO was proving the scouting department wrong but geeze unless I'm seeing this situation wrong how do the scouts live with this each and every year?

I know nothing good ever comes of acquiring someone from the Cowboys but here are some stats from 1st four games of the year with Dak as QB before he got hurt and Kellen Moore as OC

PPG - 31.5

Passing Yards Per Game -  422.5

Running Yards Per Game - 101.75

Dak was 137 for 201 which is 68% completion percentage

Ooh let's not get carried away there. 7 wins is an improvement but its not a successful year. No team in the NFC East can hold their heads high.

Whose getting carried away? That’s my point. They need to start being successful fast otherwise players will tune out that high school coach BS

Between Taylor and Hurts alone, 2020 was one of the most tone deaf and hubristic drafts Ive ever seen

Just pissing away valuable picks thinking we had the luxury of waiting years for them to develop and if not, oh well.  Totally misguided

FWIW, he has Miami taking Smith at 3 now, Bengals taking Sewell at 5, and us taking Chase at 6.

I'm fine with that as well. Smith is a stud, but I think a lot of people are forgetting just how good Chase is.

CRAAAAAAAAAP!

Losing Stoutland is easily the worst possible outcome. WOW.

I like Kelle Moore, But It was his 1st year with the Cowboys, so it was a few games till teams got some tape on his offense. Hard to quantify.

Last year was his second year

Howie is smarter than everyone.

There’s no real way of knowing. Position coaches usually only sign 2 year deals so his contract might just be up

ahh, my mistake, but it was McCarthy's first, likely were some wrinkles?

I’m not sure how these contracts work for assistants. Even if he’s under contract, I bet he can resign for a college job without issue.

Not the direction I’d go, but it’s a big splash. Glad to see them get a coach I have zero interest in.

At the end of the day the Giants and the Redskins dont have a franchise QB, theyre not getting one this year so theyre at least 3-4 years away(Although I like Washingtons Defense).

Cowboys are a wild card. I like Kellen Moore. I predicted Dak to reach 5000 yards(he was on pace) but at the end of the day they remind me like an All star team(as mentioned above)

It's not a team. Its a "me" thing down there and has been for years

I tend to agree with you on Washington. I think they lack depth on their o-line which is an issue as well.  They could be a real contender next season if they are able to get unexpected production from a rookie like Trey Lance or Mac Jones.  I would also think they would target Dak if he is not re-signed by Dallas.  I think Dak isn't likely to sign a deal this offseason but we will see.
