Eskin was on WIP and "broke" the story that Howie was telling Doug who to dress or sit on Sunday's.  WIP guys are blown away, but I thought we knew that or it was at least reported previously.  Either way....it's more confirmation of the disfunction.

It was already reported like you said. Eskin's a tool either way if hes right or wrong. There are just too many stories out there spinning people in different directions that you dont know what to believe is true anymore. At this point, I dont care about the past year, all its fake news and looking forward to the future. Sept can't come soon enough to see how this all turns out. hopefully with us fans in the stands again. Seams like a lifetime since our last fan home game when we played the Cowboys in Nov

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

That was like 3 months ago

Maybe I didn't pay attention before but I don't remember coaches taking this many interviews in the past.

This year seams like a lot of openings. I think its 6 right now. Usually its in the 2-4 range. May also seam that way because this is the year we are in the mix and in 2016 Eagles went backwards with the coaching search and waited too long to interview

I think bringing in as many candidates as possible is wise this year. It is about picking brains and hearing solutions and ideas. It is all about building connections and fact finding. Plus, they are picking for 3 primary positions OC, DC, HC so the more the merrier. The person may not be ready yet, but he may drop a name or two that would not have otherwise been considered.

Yep. Howie and Lurie are more experienced now, and I think they know they need a wide net, can't trust one or two guys.

A lot of teams want to make quick decisions b/c they're afraid of losing out on the "perfect" candidate.

Howie and Lurie have learned there is no perfect candidate, and their best hire was a QB coach with five years of NFL assistant coaching experience (AR, 3 OL, 2 QB), not the hot shot college coach or the OC or DC. The resume is less important than the interview, i.e., it's not what you've done, it's what you plan to do if you get the job.

So use this process as an opportunity to cast a wide net, get a lot of people giving their opinions about both your players, potential assistant coaches and coordinators, and their approach to rebuilding, and why they prefer certain schemes, and educate yourself while hoping the next AR falls into your lap (someone comes in and blows away their interview).

Just remember that AR excited no one when he was hired, and he's going to the HOF when he retires.

Point is there is so much fake news mixed in there with real stories you dont know which one is creditable anymore. Social media has ruined it for us with all the click bait articles.

yup...AR and his infamous binder...some guy who has been a sponge and has had access to an array of knowledge and resources quietly crafting a vision and a plan just waiting for a chance to show someone. I would be talking to as many as possible....

Wow now the nfl has turned to don't hire a white guy hire a minority and receive a bonus

That's racist

I hate this discussion but giving incentives for interviewing/hiring diverse candidate promotes equal opportunities.  It certainly doesn't equate from a legal or any other perspective to discrimination against "white guys."

Reason Eagles should consider Duce for the HC job: Duuuuuuce

Great detail and insight, Im sold, lol.

That would only be possible if the "brain trust" was sold on Wentz. Wentz may be allowed to provide some feedback at some point, but I think they are still trying to figure out what to do with Wentz. Of course there have been some hints in the past 48 hours for his future with the Eagles...not sure how credible they are...if the "brain trust" is smart they are still fact finding...

If you're rebuilding, it's a no brainer, it's about building a team for 2023.

Which means you're not worried about wins and losses next season, but player development.

So it makes sense to go with Wentz next season and see if you can get him back to being a top ten QB (the odds of drafting a top ten QB even in the top ten are slim). If not, what did you lose? A year off his contract, and a year for Hurts to develop before you hand him the reins again.

That's right but he also needs to be sat down and told he no longer holds the "keys to the castle". Wentz has to accept the challenge and the responsibility that goes with it.

I think Wentz is safe for at least one more year till the "out" year of his contract. They are going in the direction exactly what my suggestion was a month ago. Give Wentz one year under a new coach to see if he can get back somewhat the level he was in 2017. Not MVP, but star level. We all know Doug and his offense/coaching was a major issue and was holding back a lot of players success. If Wentz keeps struggling then you have your out next year and begin to move in a new direction at QB. To me its all about the coach they bring in and the scheme. But I think in the right situation Wentz can get back to a very successful level.

Problem is that's not really an out year for his contract. If you look at the way it is structured, it appears that way now, but in the details is $15M of his base salary for 2022 guarantees on the 3rd day of the 2021 league year. So if you are sticking with him in 2021 you really are committing to 2022 as well, unless you can trade him.

Well, it was pretty obvious that Pederson had lost it, he didn't want a strong OC, so we had OC by committee and it was dreadful.

The only positive thing Pederson did, other than manage a veteran clubhouse, was to recognize that Foles was a great RPO QB (his year under Chip).

Then he tried to turn Wentz into Foles with a stronger arm.

Everyone wants to blame the talent at WR, but AR made it work with Johnson/Smalls, Thrash/Pinkston/Freeman or Mitchell. And Celek, the receiving TE who ran a 5.0 40.

WR was the Achilles' heel of the Reid era.

It is racist

If both are equally qualified

But you get a bonus by picking the minority thats racism against the other guy

Let your qualities and your work get u hired

You can spin it anyway u want but it straight up racism

Yeah, but that's not a problem if you're clearing out the rest of the cap money in 2022, it's the 2023 cap that you want to protect.

Howie understands that rebuilding is not reloading, this team is not going to be fixed in one offseason. It'll take two years at a minimum, it's not just clearing out cap room, it's three drafts with high picks (both 1st and 2nd rd), auditioning lots of young players (hit on a few like Burton et al) and SFAs, and the 2-3 years it takes for draft picks to mature and develop (for every hot shot rookie, there are 3-4 players who don't start until their 2nd or 3rd season).

Too bad we have the "cap wizard" or we might have had a chance if Robinson does hit free agency.  Good thing we have DeSean and alshon! Thanks Howie!

😱    I've been screaming about him since he came out in the draft and we got Jordan Freaking Matthews instead.   And we could have gotten Robinson without trading up, like we did to grab Matthews.    And now, he's available again, after I wanted him following the Super Bowl, rather than Alshon again.   Why?   Because I'm a PSU homer... that's why, and because Allen Robinson is a better WR than Alshon.  He was then, and he is now.

I don't think this is consistent with Doug's assistants being fired out from under him only to be replaced by the consultants.

I hope this happens!!!

If we get Daboll as HC, I hope he brings his WR coach. Beasley has resurrected his career there.  Diggs has become more consistent there.  All their WRs seem to be involved.

That would be former Eagles WR chad hall

My point is if they keep him in 2021 and want to cut him in 2022, its going to be almost $39M in dead money, which they aren't going to do. It's a 2 year minimum commitment to Wentz.

Maybe he had his voice in the trade for Diggs. That trade was a difference maker for Allen and that offense.
