Reid did not have a QB background. He coached QBs not played. A lot of good coaches with successful QBs didnt have a QB back ground. That background could actually be a downfall esp from ex QBs that were not even good in the NFL.

Umm there are a few ex NFL QBS who sucked and became fine coaches.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

He was their top 2 choices were Gase who then was considered a QB whisper. And mcadoo who also was thought highly of at the time due to his work with Eli as OC and a former QB coach. So even if Doug was big their top choices still show kd that. You keep trying to ignoring the obvious.

So in that case Eric is a OC that works with Mahomes so hes just as high on the list. What I took from your first comment was his "QB background" was playing as a QB.  Every QB coach/OC has QB background then if thats what you comment meant. So there is a large pool in that case and still wouldnt explain Kafka.

Per Garofolo...

"I’ve spoken to a lot of folks in and around this situation. And there’s a lot of factors at playing here and it’s obviously going to depend who the next head coach is. And right now, this was the point at which they were supposed to be having conversations with Carson Wentz about how can they bridge this thing and bring him back. But instead, surprise! They’ve got themselves a coaching search going on. And it was a surprise to some of the folks involved in this coaching search. They didn’t expect to be doing it at this point.

So, Wentz kind of on the back burner as far as those conversations to see if they can make this thing work in 2021. But I will tell you this: sources have told me that what the team is telling head coach candidates in interviews is: 1) the head coach will obviously have a big say in how they handle the quarterback position but 2) they do believe in this guy, they want him back.

So if you’re a head coach going into those meetings saying ‘I want Wentz out, and [Jalen] Hurts in,’ I think that’s probably going to hurt your standing in this interview process.”

What about the applications who say that they both suck?...aka the smart ones.

Too many to list.

So, do we have a HC yet?

Kafka works with him as the QB coach. Before mahomes became mahomes. This BS logic he was ready made when he came into the NFL is a freaking fallacy. If that were true and he was a known proven superstar he goes 1 overall not drop to 10. He sat behind Alex smith for a year so they could work on him reading defenses and things he struggled with at Texas tech. Reid stated it in the past they didn’t think he was ready to play until late in his rookie season. It wasn’t bieniemy working with mahomes then

based off listening to podcast reid has given Kafka way more responsibility with mahomes then he did with bieniemy. Again reid himself if those reports are true from caplan and mosher and Bill polian

when i say QB background i encompass everything in his career. Player or coach.

Could be doug wasn’t good enough at his job and wentz needs to grow up and be a pro.

Well in that case lets go for Bills, Packers, Saints and any other top Qb's Qb coach out there.

Id give more of a chance with Kellen Moore being a better HC over Kafka. "QB background" if thats what they want as you suspect.

They where both wrong/bad. Issue is we are stuck with one.

I hope we can get our wasted second round pick back when we trade Hurts.

PR heat?

I hate to say it, but I would keep Hurts as the backup if Wentz is the starter and has success.

Backup QBs are very expensive, esp anyone with any past success. Id rather keep the cheap 1.4 mill QB that if Wentz goes down can fill in if needed and get us a few wins. Much better then paying a beat down scrub 5-7 mill.

So what redeeming qualities of Wentz's then led the owner to choose him over the coach?

His massive, unmovable contract. Although I wouldn't call it redeeming...

I never said Kafka was going to be a good head coach. I said the Eagles have shown in the past to like coaches especially when they’re trying to either salvage or develop a QB that have worked exclusively with quarterbacks or the position and have background at the position.

i’m not telling you you are wrong to go after another coach you like more with that background. All I’m telling you is it makes more sense with how the Eagles have been shown to think That they would select someone like Kafka over Bieniemy

Doug trusted everyone too much, including his own staff. He simply delegated too much to the wrong people.

That's poor leadership and why he was fired.

Actually stuck with all 3. Lurie, howie and wentz. Like let’s be honest all four in an ideal world wouldn’t be associated with the eagles right now for their parts as lurie imo used to be a good owner and now finds himself meddling more and allowing for this dysfunction in his organization.

Zach Berman just tweeted that Josh McDaniels is scheduled to interview with us tomorrow, but it's now deleted.

Here we go...

My Wife is screaming for Brady. Although I think she is biased. She went to LSU. Lol

Greend what are you talking about? You said Hurts hasn't shown crap. I said he hasn't shown enough to warrant ditching Wentz. We agree. He hasn't shown anything. In what world isn't that close?

That he warrants ditching Wentz.  Was it really that hard for you to figure out?
