That's the problem with Doug.  The offense was good at first.  Then teams studied and were prepared for it.  If you're DP you have to change things up, evolve your offense more, add some different things.  Not sure he did that.

Turns out Frank was the innovator offensive mastermind who worked towards your players strengths, he was the one who suggested running the read option for Nick Foles.  Once Frank left, it was apparent because our offense was stale and predictible and Doug kept trying to run the same things even though it wasnt suited for the players we had.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Unless you talk to McLane's unnamed source...

A draft pick Howie has already screwed up for one he will screw up.  I guess, by definition, that makes it an even trade.

Is that a 2019 I see there?

Looks like it. I just googled "Wentz highlights" and copied and pasted the first link because I know he's done the opposite of what you posted

Just saw the news. Well I liked what I read about Sirianni in the last couple days so I'm happy with the choice.

Go to sleep so we can find out who the assistant coaches are going to be.

Just cause he plays his corners 10 yards off doesn’t mean he plays 10 yards off with his heart.

Wentz is sort of the inverse of Hurts from a passing standpoint.  The only place Wentz can throw is to TEs in the the middle of the field; he has tunnel vision, never touches the sidelines, and usually botches throws in the flat.

The only throw Hurts can make is rolling out to a WR along the sideline.  He can’t or won’t test the middle of the field at all and is sort of a nightmare qb for 12 personnel.

Here's a 2020 highlight video since you made a comment about the 2019 one

I identify as liberal. I once took Pew's politics test and I scored as liberal as possible.

That said, there is no greater threat to liberalism than critical race theory (CRT) and its bastid (sic) step-child, wokeism. CRT is anti empirical, anti reason, and anti historical.

I do take exception with your Marxism comment. Some of the most ardent critics of CRT are Marxists. They object to replacing class dynamics with race dynamics.

I took a couple as well. One had me center right, one center left. But I agree with your basic point. Most liberals hate CRT. Mostly everyone hates CRT. Those who support it really don't understand what it is. The problem is, euphemisms are used to disguise these agendas. Things like "diversity and inclusion" which sounds good on the surface. Or "eradicate white supremacy" which also sounds good. Until you find out what they define was white supremacy. For example, many CRT training sessions define hard work and colorblindness as "white supremacist traits."

You might be right that Marxists dislike CRT as well, but I have seen a lot of these training people who do these sessions admit they're Marxists. I guess there's some variance within these groups.

yeah i mean saying wentz can only throw in the middle to TEs is just not an accurate picture. Wentzs best recievers were his backs and TEs so naturally he threw to them more, and they made more catches.

when we get some decent wrs i know wentz can and will throw to them. Fulgham was a good example , and he is not even that good of a wr

I think Scott is fine if you have him as your 3rd back or 4th. They definitely need a better backup to sanders. I’m guessing they’d ideally like to get someone with Hines skill set who was a good pairing to Taylor. I think Scott has some of those Hines traits but he’s not as good as Hines. I do wonder with marlon Mack coming off his injury (Achilles) if they sign him cheap as he was in indy and also use a later round pick on one

They definitely need another RB but I don’t think it is third or fourth back as much as a rotation.  The other back should be the primary back up to the lead back and needs some size, IMHO.  But Scott’s YPC if you take out the over 20 yard runs, wasn’t that much different than Miles.  The beat to crap OL was awful to run behind in 2020.  I think Miles is the primary back and the other rotation backs are complimentary at this point in the rotation.

Oh god I just thought of something, what if Sirianni wants to bring Groh from his old staff to be OC

Smith fits every offense

They mentioned the RB from UNC who I mentioned awhile back in here and think he would be a great fit. If he's there in the 3rd I'd take him. Not sure if he makes it there though. He's a 3 down back that can run you over, make a guy miss, turn the corner and catch a pass down the sideline. Plus he's got the toughness and just enough power, think he would be a great compliment to Sanders.

Opinion piece mostly, but the writers generally agree on this point:

Nothing on the d-coordinator yet. Hoping he brings in his colleague Gannon to establish this defense as a fearsome top 8 unit.

Hurts feels like a waste, not sure how you have that kid ride the bench now.

The pick was absolutely moronic and even more baffling as to why Howie still has a job, as all insiders state Howie went rogue and advocated for Hurts by himself. If they never had any intention on moving on from Wentz, then why did Lurie okay the Hurts selection

The skill set of "fixing Wentz” is no different from coaching up a rookie who has no clue how to play in this league.  That’s what Wentz basically is at this point anyway.  He’s a 28 year old rookie, our own Chris Weinke.  Got to start from scratch.

Ridiculous

well, since he sucked..... that seems easy. Meanwhile, look for a trade and take whats offered.

There are always solid RBs in the 4th to 6th rd range who are physical, can pass block, catch the ball but run a 4.6 and drop in the draft b/c they're not game breakers.

But they can get you 5 yards a pop behind a good line and catch a dumpoff and run over a DB to get to the first down marker.

clearly, from the first second the pick was made even until right now, the pick was never about moving on from Wentz.

It was about getting a backup QB.

Hurts played well enough to get traded, so that's on the table.

Also, Wentz needs to play better, full stop. Otherwise, whoever the backup is will replace him anyway. 2020 Wentz would have been replaced by Sudfeld even if Hurts was off the roster.
