The part that made me gag was having "an exceptionally strong group of people in this organization who can help set us up for future success".         Are you f***king kidding me?

Yeah I read that and was like who???

If Lurie is referring to Howie then maybe Lurie should switch to stand up comedy...

Good news is the board seemed to handle it well. Though the real test would have been a Howie firing lol

The real test!  A trap firing.  :P

Has harbaugh signed back with Michigan?  If not Then jeff should throw some money at him.

I’m not sad to see doug go, or any of the other coaches, we’ve been on a downward spiral since the SB and sure plenty of blame goes to Howie as well.  But lately doug seemed to be getting worse in terms of his team and personnel management.  He’s a solid if not great game day play caller when given the tools to prepare, but it’s the everything else that is on question. The lack of using miles sanders, the forcing of AJ into a lineup over fulgham, the lack of attention to defense and forcing jim to take Gerry out of the lineup, the lack of communication to Carson that he was in fact benched during the game and the BS crap he pulled with a week to week decision on that whole qb thing.

Yes, I think he was given a 5 year extension just a few days ago.

Correction, it was 4 years, not 5.

Again... you don't understand who was in charge. Players always make recommendations to coaches during games doesn't mean that the coaches always listen.

Once again the CALL was made by FOLES, PED just AGREED to it.What don't you uinderstand? The CALL was made by FOLES

Harbaugh is such a polarizing figure and comes with such a high NFL pedigree that there’s no way he’d come to Philly just to take orders from Howie.

To you, and all others who would have Duce as a head coach: What makes you think he would be a good head coach? I'm not saying he wouldn't be; I just don't know. But what evidence of his abilities do you have?

Duce is an excellent choice.  First he has an extensive history as an assistant head coach (both in Pitt and Philly).  He knows the players, he knows the organization.  Running backs have praised his ability to coach him up. Honestly, he's gotten a lot with a very little in that position group.

I know the biggest negative is that he is a running backs coach.  Recall that Andy Reid was a QB coach when he was hired here as a head coach and that worked out pretty well for us.  I think he deserves an interview.  I think he might actually RUN THE DAMN BALL!

You have accomplished something no coach has ever done and won us the Lombardi! Thank you for that magical season.

Yeah you're right. I am sure they will interview Duce for the job, but I would hate to see him hired and he falls flat.

Yeah.it's a mess, but at least he knows the teams workings even if it's in a interim role"

Doug Pederson: JOBLESS

So far all the comments from fans in this tweet are saying every question should be about Howie.    here are a couple examples.

Great Post. Great thread.

Thank you Doug. I hope he knows that despite the issues and troubles most fans are still very grateful for what he did.

I think the next coach will be given an opportunity to pick his QB after next year. new coach can come in and say its an open QB competition. lets see how wentz responds to that. best QB wins the job and needs to keep it going throughout the season. I think if the next coach decides to move on from wentz, Lurie wouldn't say anything about it.

That sounds right.  And Wentz should go to QB camp this summer (maybe with Hurts too) to work on his mechanics and decision-making.  One or both may flourish under a new coach and a dynamic offensive scheme.

Lurie PC supposed to start in about 5 minutes per NBC Sports Philly:

He was thrown to 8 times in 2020 and only caught the ball 4 times. In 2019 he was thrown to 22 times and only caught the ball 10 times

He sucks

Perhaps they weren’t exactly accurate throws? Wouldn’t be a surprise with a QB who has consistently struggled with accuracy, in Wentz.

Didn't like the hire

then you won my heart.

Gonna miss ya Dougie P. Good luck next location.

There's no doubt about it. Lurie seriously needs to answer those questions. I hope those tough questions get asked.

You're pretty set in on your hate for Wentz. This convo is done. Good day.

Same. I expect he will squirm and deflect.  Or give some bs excuses.  He's definitely not going to be direct.

Well he got our Super Bowl winning coach fired, so you should be happy.

The reporters have been asking the right questions in press conferences so I'm sure they will about this.  And I'm sure we'll hear praise for Howie.

Howie in the season ending PC was grilled about his drafting, contracts, etc. and he gave the same old "we have to do better and that starts with me" answers.

I mean, look Howie deserves all the hateful comments he's getting.  However, this guy is one of the premier cap guys in the league.  We kind of need him to fix our cap situation, which I think he can do over the next few seasons.

Indeed, it was a situation he created.  However, at the time we thought Carson was a young rising star int he league and Howie locked him up when he was young, and got it for a relative bargain.  When Dak signs his deal, come back and compare numbers.  Howie got Carson at a steal, and they have been largely considered pretty close over their careers, talent-wise.

Howie did this before.  Remember all that garbage contracts that Chip Kelly gave us?  He dumped them both in the same offseason.  Watch, he's gonna fix this.  Have faith.

Thank you Doug. Magical year and it was clear the team played for you.

Wanted you to stay for at least another year, but you stayed true to your principles and can go with your head held high.

Lol I want that reporter who was always asking Doug why Alshon is on the team to ask Lurie why Howie is still employed

  At 4:18 press were told 5 more minutes.
