Credited for Aaron Rodgers, Clay Mathews and Greg Jennings, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Antonio Calloway...and traded/signed pieces that helped. (Drafted Mahomes, but I credit Reid for most of that).

 

I wouldn’t expect him to ever get final say over Howie but I sure hope that Lurie took note of all the questions he fielded during his last PC regarding the poor job Howie has done with drafting and will at least give a directive to Howie to allow Dorsey to have more of a say on setting the board and making the picks.

I agree. I’m hoping with all these top of the round picks that we have that Dorsey has some strong influence.

Everything I read about Bieniemy is that he is a bad interview and that stigma has been stuck with him for the past two seasons. It's not skin color, although that is still a problem in the NFL. And the off-field stuff was back when he was a college player 30 years ago.

Andy Reid loves the guy, so he must leave a REALLY bad impression. If I was Bieniemy, I'd go to Reid and ask what I was doing wrong because clearly he isn't getting good advice.

I see Salah had his press conference the other day so if they are waiting for that reason, they apparently don't have to. It usually doesn't take them this long to make it official and have press conference. It's starting to make me wonder why it is taking this long. Could they be waiting until all of the coaching positions are determined and then have one big press conference?  That would help take some of the media pressure off of a new young coach. Did they think Wentz would be happy with this hire and found out he's not? Maybe it's just taking longer to get the paperwork submitted and processed in these days of social distancing. Who knows? I surely have no idea and I just made some stuff up. But the longer this goes on the more I would expect the media to start speculating.

Who knows if it is or isn’t his skin color, we don’t know for sure.  There might be owners that are uncomfortable with a black head coach, and I love the bad interview stuff on him, it’s not like anyone believes Pederson was a great interview, and with his firing, he’s now 1 step away from being the Dude.

 Didn’t Bieniemy’s agent turn down the Eagles?   Besides, who says he wants to come to this team with Howie controlling everything?  I’m sure Reid has filled him in, and so did Doug if he asked.  
 

There are several openings in the NFL usually every year, Bieniemy comes here and doesn’t set the opening day roster, is told who his QB is, and only gets to hire coaches with Howie’s approval. No say in drafting, trading, or signing FA’s.   Seriously, which one of you would want your first, and maybe last HC job on a team with limited responsibilities, but yet get all the blame when things go bad?    Lurie crapped on Reid when he left, same for Chip, and soon they’ll leak BS on Pederson. 
 

Not speaking for the entirety of the NFL, but Duce didn’t get the Eagles job cause he’s black, and he hasn’t been back year after year, coach after coach to be the token black guy, he commands and demands respect, he’s been apart of different offenses and coaches,. One day will likely make a good CEO/coach on the field just not here, he knows where the bodies are buried so to speak.   
 

I’m sure if Duce REALLY wanted to be a HC,  Andy would of made some calls around the league to get Duce some interviews, we don’t know, what we don’t know.

How funny would it be if the Bills lost tomorrow, Eagles interviewed Brian Daboll the next day and hired him instead, lol. 

I know it wont happen, just a joke. But very strange the Eagles have yet to officially announce Sirianna on the website, tweeter, or anything. Reporters everywhere say its him but the Eagles are silent.

Probably wanted to let him finish his vacation before getting to the business of calling an introductory press conference.  Sirianni was on vacation in Florida with his family when he got the call.

I could be wrong, but I think they waited on making an official announcement on Doug until the staff was complete, so as you touched on, that could be it.

Gus was at Lurie's house, and certainly on the verge, but I don't recall him ever being hired.

Hes right, Gus was on the plane to Philly for his 2nd interview/expected to sign and hours later Gus was on his way back because the Eagles decided to sign Chip instead when he changed his mind to go to the NFL. If Im correct Chip never even had an official in person interview. 

Doubt that is the case here but is very strange they havent said a word from the organization. If it was the case its possible the Eagles were in talks with Daboll's agent since he represents Howie. A little hush hush talking in the background lol. Again doubtful but funny to think about. 

I read that Sirianni interrupted his vacation to interview right before he got hired.  Maybe he's finishing up that vacation now.

So Joe Banner (most will stop reading here, lol) thinks the exact opposite of most people about the new coach being hired to fix Wentz. I found his point of view very interesting. Here's a link and a snippet from the article:

So it’s not like they would have any great confidence that he’s going to come in and make Carson look like the quarterback he was in 2017.

It could be neutral. They could be where they were before they started the search where they wanted to try and fix Carson but also were willing to consider the possibility of trading him and moving forward with Jalen Hurts.

Or it could be, they don’t want to bring in a new coach who doesn’t have a ton of experience and start with him having to figure out who gets what reps in practice, and who in the locker room favors this guy over that guy. This situation presents a lot of challenges to a new coach coming in. As we discussed last week, it’s one of the reasons they had trouble attracting some top candidates.

You want to create a different attitude and culture under a new coach. You want it to become his team very quickly. To have him spend the next four months tutoring and developing and hoping he’s making progress with a quarterback that last year didn’t play near well enough to be a starter isn’t ideal.

So my first belief is that the narrative that’s taking form about them bringing Wentz back and trying to fix him, I don’t necessarily think it’s true.
