January 21, 20214 yr I kinda liked McDaniels but willing to give this guy a shot. He’s starting from just about rock bottom so

Here comes losing for another 4 years before we get a new head coach. Lurie sucks, Howie sucks. I don't know why i even support this team. At the same time you have to remember that Andy was a QB coach and he was on nobody's radar. Nobody was on board with him being chosen. Andy had his flaws that drove me crazy, but he is made it as a HC. Same with Doug. Doug wasn't on anyone's list of candidates.

January 21, 20214 yr I like it, young, comes from a creative offense that runs the ball, low turnover and sack numbers.

That’s what everyone said about Reid, plus Pederson when the city wanted Gase, who’s a complete joke and a flake.

January 21, 20214 yr From a Colts message board Quote Boy. That’s... That’s weird. "Alright Carson, we cant get you Reich, but we CAN get you his secretary... eh? Ehhhh?”
January 21, 20214 yr Trying to figure out how this JAG is more qualified than Byron Leftwich who can't buy an interview... Let me guess, Leftwich production as OC is a small sample size. Or Leftwich has Tom Brady this year. Wonder what the excuse is...

This guy seems to have been around the league a few years and been exposed to lots of different coaches and schemes. The only thing that pops off the stats sheet is that the Colts offense ranked #2 in number of sacks allowed, yet ranked #10 in passing yards. Great! Welcome aboard! As I understand, he was the only coach that Reich specifically requested when he arrived in Indy. If you remember, the colts had already hired most of the assistants for McDaniels and he accepted the majority of them. But he really wanted Sirianni. Since then, Reich has constantly praised him and credits him for his game plan. Other media members have praised him, including Orlovsky. Plus, the colts have been pretty aggressive callers, so we won't be missing that from Doug. Lastly, I have a couple of friends who are colts fans and they're pretty upset that he's leaving. So, all this makes me think he'll be a great coach for us.

January 21, 20214 yr I know less about him than guys like McDaniels, Daboll, Brady, etc. The small amount I have read is encouraging. Clearly they want to tap into someone who worked with Reich since Frank had success with Carson. Happy with the decision. Thrilled we didn't become a laughing stock by making Duce the head coach.

January 21, 20214 yr Nick's people skills are better than McDaniels' people skills. You can see that he is comfortable talking to players. So, that should help in terms of getting players to buy in to some degree. The unknown is how well he will do in creating an offense and how he will do overseeing the staff.
January 21, 20214 yr Someone send an email to Lombardi and ask him to declare this the worst ever coaching hire in the history of history.
