Going after Disney isn’t as smart as conservatives think it is.

It's idiotic, anti-American and has blown up spectacularly in DeSantis' face. Using the power of government to punish private enterprise for expressing political views is abhorrent and represents everything the GOP should be against. All Americans should be against it. If conservative groups want to call for a boycott -- totally kosher. But weaponizing government is ridiculous.

And no - Disney isn't going to move anywhere. They'll be in FL longer than this goverment.

I agree except that I think a form of this government is going to be in FL for a long time.  They're too far gone down there and it's ground zero for the Trump movement.

At some point they’re gonna have a demographics problem.  Boomers like @DrPhilly are getting a little long in the tooth.

Get ready for a blue tsunami in 2024. GOP is pissing everyone off.

Senate is almost certainly going Red. The map makes it basically impossible for the Dems to come out with a majority.

But the way things are going I think the house may flip. We'll see. Still a lot of time.

GOP seems to have suddenly forgotten that people turn to the Republican party to avoid socialism, not embrace it under a different name.  It may sound good to the drooling Kz's of the world to exact your emotional revenge through gov't means but it sounds like a nightmare to everyone else.

They're completely F'd until they realize that and they may be F'd for a lot longer because they really need people to make that middle aged switch from blue to red in order to keep pace.  They can't afford to lose a generation and right now they're in the process of doing exactly that.

  Growing up sure as sheet doesn't help Republicans anymore.  It's not 1980 and the GOP are the adults in the room anymore.  This is where the right is in 2023:

  It's such a bad idea that it's hard to believe that anyone outside of Trump's syphilitic brain has endorsed it.

Not only does it put a potential war literally in our back yard, displace potentially millions of people and make our border crisis infinitely worse, but it does absolutely nothing to stop the flow of drugs into the US.

You blow a few cartels off the face of the earth and you've done exactly nothing about the demand for drugs.  New suppliers will crop up overnight and it'll keep coming in.  You'd think the party that pretends to be all about the free market would've brushed up on supply and demand.

So, we're embracing cancel culture now?

Cancel culture is a human trait, not a political affiliation trait. Just ask the Dixie Chicks and Colin Kaepernick.

Tennessee Republicans killed bills in committee that would help young adults register to vote.

The chance of moving is slim to none in my opinion. They’ll either just wait out DeSantis or come up with some political compromise.

Of course. Even Disney can’t afford to just abandon and start over building 4 parks and countless hotels. Desantis will be gone in a few years. Florida is pretty solid red now though so the next guy will probably be similar. Just have to hope the next guy isn’t running for President so he won’t have to pander to his base as hard. Disney leaving would be interesting to see though. Orlando would basically become a ghost town.

Maybe Disney should not lie about a political bill and throw their support behind child grooming.  I dont know, just throwing out some alternatives to moving out of Florida....

Amazing how people are so worried about the poor struggling Disney corporation that doesnt hesitate to absolutely price gouge everyone who goes there.  Theyll be just fine.

amazing how a person's political ideology can do a 180 in an instant when it fits their agenda.

Just another "small-government conservative" supporting the punishment of private enterprise for free speech.

Sorry they want to be a political entity they can be treated like one.  Seems fair to me.  They get special privileges in Florida, so maybe theyll think twice next time they want to lay their business on the line to try and dabble in politics.

It seems fair to you because you're a toothless unprincipled moron who doesn't actually know the definition of what a conservative is. Hint, it's not using authoritarian means to punish differing political opinions.
