You’d be surprised at the amount of millennials with libertarian-esque views.

The Trump authoritarianism on the right is deep in the Boomers. In the millennials, it’s either very rich or very poor rural people. Politically in my experience Millenials and Zennials are socially liberal. The difference is that they’re split 50/50 on economics.

The ones I have met are very left on fiscal and tax policy. They support socialism for the most part, and the polling bears this out.

Michigan House Republicans are working on a bill that will ban COVID-19 vaccination passports:

So they want to ban "government entity" from issuing passports, but in order to accomplish this they impose $1,000 fine on individuals who violate the act. Huh?

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signs restrictive voting bill

(CNN) - Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday morning signed into law a controversial voting bill aimed at curbing access to mail-in voting in the state, joining a host of other GOP-led states pushing new limits in connection with former President Donald Trump's baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 election.

Fox & Friends were the only media allowed to witness and discuss the signing.

Pointless posturing, but that won't stop the idiots from trying. At this point, I'm not sure when I'll be able to vote for another Republican again at any level of government. It's really getting out of hand.

Hmm...I'm thinking there may have to be a wager of some kind on this.

I would love love love to lose that wager. Everything I read about redistricting form state legislatures makes it sound inevitable.

I feel a 2010 repeat when the Senate should have been in the bag for the GOP, but then the loons primaried good men like Mike Castle with a Wiccan. I can see that in House races -- Trumpbots win the primary, get beat in the general.

I lived in Miami for a short time. Nice city. Miami is more like the Caribbean. Northern Florida is more like East Alabama

Yeah you’re going to have a higher amount that favor socialism because after having a childhood in the 90s where, as my father puts it, "it was at,” they came into adulthood forged by the housing market collapse, and emerged into a drastically different economic landscape than what they were raised to believe they would get. You had a generation of Boomer parents pushing their kids to get degrees so that they could be successful, without them getting the guidance over what type of degree they should get. Not that I agree with the large amount of millennials that favor socialism, but my reply to the statement of that there are so many of them that favor socialism and have a disdain of capitalism, I have but a two word reply: no ish.

In terms of the youth you interact with, I’m going to go out on a limb and state that the millennials you probably interact with were born into a higher social economic class, and in my anecdotal experience rich kids have nothing to offer society. They have no real life experience. They had no struggle. No experience to forge them into a tougher person. The issue is the same, but for different reasons. Poor parents don’t have meaningful interactions with their kids because they are busy doing drugs/being glued to the tv/etc, whereas rich parents don’t have meaningful interactions with their kids because the jobs rich people do require so much time to do them, and rich people are rich because they are ambitious and want to be at the pinnacle of their profession, which takes time.

Of the millennials and zennials I know, those that are woke socialists come from two places: poverty or money. Those raised in the middle class skew economically conservative. We don’t give a ish who Fs who, that menthols exist, that guns exist, etc. What gets us is that our tax dollars subsidize the socioeconomic classes that bracket ours.

Obviously there are exceptions to the following, however when it comes to the socioeconomic class of parents, the kids of the top 20% exist the same as the kids of the bottom 20%: they do drugs, don’t have meaningful jobs, and spend someone else’s money.

I hope to holy hell you're right.

I'm a bit anxious about 2022. rationally and logically, the loons taking over the Republican party should alienate enough old school Republicans (or at least republicans with principles) that the Dems should be able to gain seats provided the gerrymandering isn't insanely historic.

But Trump supporters have to this point defied all rational thought and logic. 74 million people voted for this miscreant. Over 11 million MORE than 4 years ago.

If anything is worthy of an investigation into voter fraud, it's where all these people turning out for Trump came from.

I’m even seeing this nonsense on my linked in feed. When the republicans regain power they will push to nationalize social media so they can control it, while at the same time condemning socialism. Book it.

Was just reading a bunch of examples of different Republicans who voted against Bidens covid bill taking credit for the benefits their constituents are now receiving from the same bill.

MD Governor Hogan be spittin on Meet The Press

Hogan says Republicans had "four worst years we've had, ever", essentially blaming Trump for Republican losses.

I think it's a longer-trend, going back a generation. The repercussions of simply denouncing any Democrat position, without debate, even when it benefits Republicans.... Has left the party in a world where only Republicans exist to themselves. The party is left to only debate itself.  They're left tearing each other down.

So if you don't support Trump and are a Moderate Republican, you're a Liberal.

Further evidence of the Death of the Party.

'Skewed and out of whack': Right-wing extremism flourishes in North Texas suburbs

Battles with liberals are enduring and predictable, but what worries Fuller is the deepening rancor between Republican moderates and right-wing extremists over what America should look, sound and feel like. Inspired by nativist fervor and fed by Donald Trump's rage, the Republican Party here encompasses anti-vaccination protesters, QAnon conspiracy theorists and those whose mistrust of President Biden only hardens as he reverses his predecessor's policies.

"It’s just not the party I recognize anymore,” said Fuller, 58, a moderate Republican whose Trump-supporter siblings no longer speak to him. "We are at a place where families are torn apart by political ideologies that are so skewed and out of whack.”

What is evident across this county — where in the 1970s oilmen-rancher TV drama "Dallas" was filmed — is that extremism has gone mainstream in certain pockets of America. Hard-line sentiments that would have been whispered only years ago are now spoken unabashed

Yep. And anyone who supports Cheney is a Liberal.

Former RNC Chair Says The GOP Has Hit Its 'Lowest Of Lows'

Michael Steele, the former chair of the Republican National Committee, said Sunday that the GOP is reeking of desperation as it clings to former President Donald Trump.

Steele, an MSNBC contributor and loud Trump critic, was asked on "The Sunday Show” to comment on Republicans’ fealty to the former president, which has become somewhat of a litmus test within the party.

"My, how the mighty have fallen and sunken to the lowest of lows that Donald Trump is your savior,” Steele said. "The reality of it is, Donald Trump, five years ago was someone that everyone was like, ‘why is he here?’ And now they’re kicking everyone else out of the room because he is here.”

House Republicans are preparing to purge Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) from her leadership position because she won’t support Trump or his election lies. MSNBC showed a clip of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who said last week that he’d always liked Cheney but he had determined that the GOP "can’t grow” without Trump.

Graham was not so positive about Trump prior to his election. In fact, during the 2016 campaign, he said that "we will get destroyed” if Trump became the nominee.
