Republicans think this big-government stooge is the future of the party.

The pieces are coming together. This is to force twitter to let Trump back on when he announces his candidacy which I expect will be between now and July 4th.

By the way, this is a keeper:

The only way to prevent full on communism is to usher in full on communism.

The new motto of the republican party.

I stand with my prediction -- he won't actually run. He'll tease it, talk about it, keep saying he will...but never do it. What he will do is suck up all the oxygen and kneecap whoever is the GOP nominee. I expect him to even encourage a floor fight if the nominee doesn't slurp him constantly.

Running for President takes effort. Donny Two Scoops doesn't do effort. He'll just Tweet, distract and rant away from Mar-A-Lago.

He's holding campaign rallies this summer. That's already happening. Will he just say "he's considering running" at these events? Maybe, but I doubt it.

He's got his lackeys and sycophants to do the heavy lifting. All he has to do is his stand up routine across the country in airplane hangers where his private jet goes. That's not much effort for him and he gets off on it.

Yeah...about that.

He's not going to run for one reason and one reason alone -- he's too scared to lose again.

@mr_hunt can let us know when he gets an email to donate to the repair fund

While he is scared to lose again, the new voting laws are coming together to overturn the 2024 election. It's virtually impossible for Biden or any democrat to win GA or AZ even if the won 99% of the vote since the legislature now has the power to overturn the popular vote in each state. Trump just needs a few more states to enact similar laws and he's in business.

PRESIDENT TRUMP IS GOING TO HOLD A RALLY IN FLORIDA!

We know that you can’t wait to attend, but first, we need your help to make sure that this rally day is the most EPIC EVER. That’s why we launched our Florida Fundraising Blitz.

How could it be more epic than the last rally.  Are they actually going to kill a sitting member of the government this time ??

Meh, I'm not too worried about it. If any legislature tried it, Congress would melt down. But, it won't be close enough for a couple states to matter.

If you made me bet on running, dead, or in jail -- I'd bet on dead.

CVON "conservatives”:  the government has too much power! We need a small, limited government!  Government needs to stop regulating businesses!

Also CVON "conservatives”: We need the government to take away the right to freedom of association from private companies!

Yeah, the free market thing is kind of out the window when big tech colludes with one political party to silence opposition. We're kind of past the point in history where repubs have to pretend like the "free market" can fix everything. They need to start behaving like dems when they get in power, and start using the power of the government to punish their enemies.

Trump will pretend to run to milk morons out of dollars.

He will not run again.

Most Republicans believe that Donald Trump is still the rightful president and that the results of the 2020 election were tarnished by illegal voting, according to a new Reuters-Ipsos poll released on Tuesday.

The survey found that just over half of Republicans  53 percent think that Trump remains the "true president,” despite losing to President Biden last year by roughly 7 million votes nationally. Even more  61 percent  believe either strongly or somewhat that the 2020 election was "stolen” from the former president

Kz, you know that liberalism is the idea that the government can make policies to improve society, right?  Guess what, you’re an out-of-the-closet liberal!!

No it's not.

So when someone mentions liberalism, or talks about being a liberal, you think they’re talking about advocating for individual rights?  No wonder you’re so confused in this forum.   (Tbf, you’re not the only one).

Socialism is when the government controls businesses or even entire industries.  You should take a political science class.

Your previous answer was the government will fix things and make everything better. That's essentially putting everything in the hands of the government just like the other socialist countries do. When  you transfer the source of power from the people to the state, you've failed. That's the point I'm making not some straw man about supporting equality. Individual rights and liberties as a priority must include everyone equally under the laws the people put forth, not what an Oligarchy wants. You seem to prefer big brother to a Constitutional Representative Republic. Maybe you could examine your preferences more closely. You should take a political science class.

Classical liberalism is not the same thing as modern liberalism.  You’re taking the Enlightenment definition and trying to say that’s what liberalism is in 2021.  It’s not.

Before Trump liberals tended to favor big government (or the government offering solutions i.e. the New Deal). Conservatives tended to favor limited government (or laissez-faire policies).

Of course that was before you guys went full authoritarian with Trump leading a dystopian neo-fascist government.

Dave, the eternal struggle is the individual vs. the oligarchy. I hope we individuals prevail or we may get the nanny state you like, only with a nanny worse than Trump.

Well, if you want a neo-fascist police state then keep voting for Trump.

Conservatives, or more precisely Republicans, have not favored smaller government for a long time.

Well, right.  Reagan touted limited government, but actually expanded the size of the federal government during his time in office.

I don’t even know where to begin with Trump...

He’s your nominee in 2024 if he’s alive and not in prison.
