I didn't read the exchange and what you are talking about, so I cant talk about what he stated here, but in general, I agree with this 100% about WGB. I have no time for the pompous arrogance he displays. He is a joke and I put him on ignore just after reading his posts when I joined. We didn't even have any exchanges. He isn't the only one. Hunt is the same. The only time I see their posts is when some of you respond to them.

This likely will lead to further mutations and variants. Those variants may defeat the current vaccines for adults, or perhaps make the disease more dangerous for kids. The vaccine will accelerate mutations if anything. Anyway, this is the sort of thing that makes me say we should pump the breaks on introducing the vaccine to children. It’s rare, for now, but who knows how it develops in a few years.

No, this is wrong. Mutation rates are a product of transmission rates. Guess which population promotes transmission more (Vaccinated vs unvaccinated)?

And then double down instead of admitting their fringe right-wing news sources might be a tad unreliable.

November 8, 20214 yr TEW saying kids shouldn’t get vaccinated because it might mess up their development is silly. There’s a reason it took 12 extra months to approve it for kids under 12

But the vaccine doesn't stop transmission. In fact, there has been no measurable relationship to an area's vaccination rate and the number of new cases. I posted this several times a few pages ago, but no one wanted to discuss. 15 hours ago, Ipiggles said: I didn't read the exchange and what you are talking about, so I cant talk about what he stated here, but in general, I agree with this 100% about WGB. I'm usually not one to pick on a person for things they cannot change about themselves, Examples: height, looks, physical limitations, and or limited mental capacity. These things are beyond peoples control. Now, his pompous, holier than thou, hypocritical attitude, yeah he owns all of that! And you may be correct, it may be tied to an insecurity. One thing for sure, he got picked on in school.

This. 1000 x Again, (because I know the people in the cheap seats dont pay attention) I am fully vaxed, I support Covid Vaccines, just not COVID Vaccine mandates. Being vaxed does not stop you from getting it, nor passing it along. We also do not have the knowledge of any potential long term issues. SO for those who are in the least risk categories and those who already had COVID and survived with minimal issues, why in the world would you subject yourself to the potential of possible long term vaccine issues? If you can still get it and pass it, than you take all the risks, and have zero benefits?

November 8, 20214 yr I mean. Wow. Mandating something that, let's face it, doesn't work at all after a few months is just evil.

Just not nearly as much as we'd like. The difficulty with measuring these things is that once the Delta variant of the virus hits critical mass in a population, especially a dense one, it has enough viral load and targets to blow up and overcome the vaccine. It's still about trying to break the chain of infection early, and even at reduced efficacy vs Delta it's the best tool we have to help keep the reproduction number down.

Harvard scientists looked at data from all over the world and found that there was no relationship between vaccination rates and transmission rates. Harvard.

November 8, 20214 yr Some of you are arguing an absurd position: "if one round of a new vaccine isn't 100% effective in perpetuity against a novel coronavirus* and all its variants now and forever then it's just not worth the risk" * Noteworthy that no vaccine against a member of the coronavirus family has ever been produced before.
