For example, if omicron spreads twice as fast as delta, the disease reduction for a given population must match or exceed that amount for this (and omicron must also confer immunity to delta infections) for this to be a net benefit. Meaning if Delta sends 4% of people of infected people to the hospital, then omicron must be less than 2%.

December 6, 20214 yr measles isn't a current public health concern because we spent decades vaccinating enough people that it's no longer a threat. but idiots are holding vaccines developed for a novel virus to impossible standards of efficacy while demanding complete eradication from one dose for an illness we still are learning about. and as medical science didn't have every answer to every question correct since the beginning of the pandemic, obviously the move is to put more trust in thought leaders like Joe Rogan.
