IT guy at work went back to hospital with covid pneumonia and has been placed on a ventilator.  Young 30's, huge Eagles fan.

So Omicron is pretty mild for everyone who gets it regardless of vaccination status, and the vaccines are hot garbage (which we already knew).

The whole "omciron hasn't even killed anyone" narrative points to exactly how stupid people are at this point. Tens of thousands of deaths are virtually guaranteed for a country of 300+ million where 40% of the population refuses to get vaccinated. Whether that wave overwhelms hospitals is a different question as we thankfully might be into the early spring before it takes hold but to think it's as mild as the common cold is truly hilarious.

ah, the internet. where any idiot (like one person named Martin Armstrong) can throw up a blog on a website and be deemed immediately credible when they pluck the right confirmation bias heartstrings and picked up by grifters.

Remember the absolute wars this dude and Runyan used to have? Ah, the good ole days.

lmfao underrated point:

1 in 100 elderly Americans are dead. Now, since COVID is a hoax, this means the government has killed 1 out of every hundred seniors, for show.

Good thread on what omicron might mean for delta from what little we know so far.

Hospital data from South Africa looks outstanding so far:

Quote

In South Africa, early hospital data shows that less than a third of patients admitted for covid-19 during the latest wave linked to the omicron variant are suffering severe illness, compared with two-thirds in the early stages of the past two waves. The National Institute for Communicable Diseases cautioned that the study had some inherent limitations — it is not yet peer-reviewed — and that severe cases could rise as the fourth wave gets going.

Amazing news.

2096 gonna be lit when the data drops.

Gorsuch is starting to worry me. I expected something like this from ACB, but not him. One's constitutionally protected right to the free exercise of religion ends at the fist/face junction. Replace fist with respiratory droplets, and face with nasopharynx, and I fail to see why the result isn't the same.

Granted you could make the argument that you don't know for sure whether someone's respiratory droplets are infectious, but I'd say that's where exceptions for daily testing should be allowed in lieu of a hard mandate. Though with healthcare workers, I can see why the requirements may need to be stricter given the number of patients they have to interact with on a daily basis.
