January 4, 20223 yr Ah yes, the trumpbots now faced with the reality that their "mild cold" narrative is quickly unraveling, are going back to the old "not from covid, but with covid" well. If only we had data to torpedo that argument too...

This literally doesn't say anything to refute the fact that Covid hospitalization data in this country has been greatly exaggerated throughout the pandemic due to the lack of distinction between hospitalizations because of covid and hospitalizations with covid. Oh and you should probably apologize to @Joe Shades 73 because he was 100% correct your argument about hospitalizations, and you were embarrassingly wrong as per usual. Slink away in shame, little dude.

January 4, 20223 yr Of course it’s from the National Review. I’m on y’all’s side on this one, dip sheets. I’m hoping it’s mild and have changed essentially nothing in my life based on its risk, but you’re gonna have to find legit sources if you want anyone to believe you.

If you're boosted, your individual risk remains low. But the collective impact is still being felt because of how many unvaccinated morons we share this country with.

January 4, 20223 yr 28 minutes ago, Kz! said: Yeah, don't think it'll reduce the death count to 20K, but it's absolutely insane that hospitals haven't been making the distinction between being hospitalized because of Covid or hospitalized with Covid. We've based much of our response to the virus around hospitalizations and deaths and we're just now finding out that the conspiracy theorists have been right about the numbers all along. It's insanity. It’s the Chicken or the egg argument in a lot of cases. I mean, if you broke a leg and went to the hospital and they found you to have a high BP and respirations were up and you had a slight fever so they ran a Covid test and it was positive, then sure you didn’t come to the hospital for Covid, however if you’re then admitted to the ICU because your pulse ox was 80% and you had trouble breathing, then we’ll that’s a Covid hospitalization. In other words, regardless of what brought you there, If you’d otherwise have gone home but got admitted because of Covid then it’s a Covid hospitalization. When we were initially dealing with this hospitalizations were up because we didn’t know what it was or how to deal with it or had any level of protection. And as a result there were Higher rates of severe illness. There was no fudging of numbers at that time. And now we have protections in the vaccines which reduce the severity greatly and we have better treatment and know how to fight it off so the severe cases are way down, but that still doesn’t mean people aren’t going to hospitals because of Covid and it doesn’t indicate any numbers are being manipulated. in terms of the cause of death, look at any death certificate. A gunshot victim will also have at least 3 other contributing factors. Maybe they’re a diabetic that bled out. Maybe they had heart disease and developed clots after surgery, and maybe, just maybe they were immuno suppressed and caught a virus and died because it caused pneumonia. So what killed him? The gunshot? The number of chins? Or a virus? You see how this works?

The gunshot? The number of chins? Or a virus? You see how this works? Except if you are admitted to the hospital you are automatically tested for coronavirus. What we're just now finding out nearly two years after the fact is that everyone admitted to the hospital for any reason who tests positive for coronavirus is added to the "covid hospitalization" list. So, yes, people who broke their legs in a car crash are tested for coronavirus and if they test positive, they're added to the "covid hospitalization" list regardless of whether or not they have symptoms. It's incredibly flawed since we've been using that data to make policy decisions.

This is going to wind up like Japan in WWII, with the zealots who have so wrapped Covid authoritarian acquiescence up in their identity hiding in their mental caves, refusing to come out when someone comes to tell them that it's over.

January 4, 20223 yr CDC revised amount of omicron VS Delta saying Delta as of a few weeks ago was still dominant so most likely the increase in hospitalizations is due to that. It is quite clear from data out of UK , SA and other places Omicron is more mild

January 4, 20223 yr I just got off a zoom call with a coworker who has omicron. She had the original covid in 2020. She is vaccinated, can't remember if she said she is boosted. Looks like a really bad flu and she said that's how she feels. Very achy she said. Still not something I want. 13 new cases in my kids' school this week.

The only argument I recall having with you was when you incorrectly claimed gunshot victims are listed as covid deaths if they tested positive. I think both of you are confusing that conversation with hospitalizations, or are confusing me with someone else.

Fauci has never said anything remotely resembling your argument that covid deaths include gunshot or car crash victims. And you won't quote the posts because you know you're wrong. The argument was about deaths, not hospitalizations.
