I didn’t believe a parent would be so afraid their kid had the sniffies that they would call all over the place to get them in for a test and complain that they couldn’t get therapeutics only necessary for immune compromised people, but you made me a believer. Illiterate as always, she's asymptomatic and we can't send her back to school until we get a negative test. She's gonna miss tomorrow too because we still haven't got the results back.

The rest were hospitalized for other reasons, and then tested positive for COVID in the hospital. So "only" 3,000 people are hospitalized with Covid?

Both my kids have been vaccinated since late November, I was just pointing out that omicron recently eliminated the only approved treatment option for the under 12 group. It's rare that kids get hospitalized for this, but it's still happening often enough for children's hospitals to be at capacity. Wish you best of luck with your unvaccinated kids.

Nationally hospitals are wildly short staffed and we're in peak respiratory season, but yeah a few extra thousand hospitalizations are just NBD. About 20,000 total hospital beds in all of NJ but sure, what's 3000 extra patients requiring aggressive respiratory care? I had to literally beg an immunocompromised patient with a fever to go the ED a few weeks ago because they didn't want to sit for hours. That being after I had another one die of gram negative sepsis earlier this year who didn't want to do for the same reason. Wife found a giant mass in a woman's ovary today. She's referred to the oncologists but even cancer surgeries are on hold for the foreseeable future. Gonna see a baby tomorrow in the nursery tomorrow alone because mom is on ECMO from COVID. That will be the 4th COVID positive mother of a baby I've seen this month, but thankfully only the second one with a Fing plastic tube in their throat. Wifey is only on #3, but ya know that doesn't include the 2 late term spontaneous abortions so I guess she "wins". Words cannot express how infuriating it is to see a bunch of ignorant C-students act like this is even remotely normal or mild.
January 11, 20223 yr Finally out of the woods with COVID and flurona making its way around our house. Everyone with the exception of our youngest, who was vaccinated, was laid up at some point. It was the sickest a couple of us have ever been.

Such a dumb argument! There’s Better chance you die from a car accident than a cavity but I bet you brush your teeth every day. I bet you also learned to swim so you don’t drown, look both ways before crossing a street, and have anti slip duckies on the bottom of your tub so you don’t slip and die in the shower. What else do you do in your every day life that you make decisions based on the death probabilities. Your mom probably cuts your hot dogs into halves so you don’t choke on them too. But yeah when it comes to a deadly virus, just F all the precautions.

Or do you think you’ll be ok because the chances you freeze to death are pretty low.

Shocking, but they both survived their head cold. But feel free to go shoot your kid up for no reason.

Now the CDC is saying it. 🤷♂️ What do you mean "now” the CDC is saying it? There’s been data on COVID deaths and comorbidities since the beginning of this thing. Propaganda is people who then take that data and go "only 5% of COVID deaths are in people with zero comorbidities. That means the REAL amount of COVID deaths are actually only 5% of the death toll the government is putting out” which is something I’ve seen happen time and time again. Some People hear the term comorbidity and they think it means diagnosed with a condition that has you pegged for imminent death. Not realizing that the majority of the over 40 adult population has hypertension, diabetes, or is obese, and so when ANYONE of them dies for ANY reason, it’s highly likely they have comorbidities.

Wow so you believe the vaccines don't work? is that what you are saying, you believe the stats showing that around 0.2% of vaxxed have died is a lie? because if you believe the numbers then you agree it is mild for almost all vaxxed. And since the vaccine is widely available then it is a personal choice whether the virus is mild or not. Virginia for example, looks pretty mild overall for vaxxed. I mean if you can't live a normal life with these odds then you better be prepared to lockdown forever,

Less than that and flying isn’t worth it. Takes me 90 mins to drive to the airport, then dealing with airport crap for 90 mins, then the flight and getting out of the airport. Just not worth it. Especially with rental cars being crazy expensive now.
