Wow so you believe the vaccines don't work? is that what you are saying, you  believe the stats showing that around 0.2% of vaxxed have died is a lie? because if you believe the numbers that then you agree it is mild for almost all vaxxed. And since the vaccine is widely available then it is a personal choice whether the virus is mild or not. Virginia for example, looks pretty mild overall for vaxxed. I mean if you can't live a normal life with these odds then you better be prepared to lockdown forever,

Where are you getting the 0.2% of vaxxed have died stat?

It  may be less than that. Not all states give out the info, New Jersey and Virginia are two that do and the numbers are less than 0.2% so it is not a giant leap to think that even if it is higher overall then it is not much.

If the Virginia numbers are correct and .017% of vaxxed have died that means 17 out of every 100,000 people.  That’s pretty good odds.

If a fat person with diabetes has a heart attack and dies what is the cause of death?

Heart attack with contributing factors being a fatty with diabetes

Yep, died of a heart attack

I've read several articles now which essentially say everyone will get Omicron as it is simply too contagious to stop.   The important part in that scenario remains "flatten the curve" as always so restrictive measures are useful in helping to keep hospitals from completely being knocked out all at once.

btw - On the personal level, I was finally given the chance to book a booster.  That option opened up yesterday.  It took me a day to find a reasonable location/time and this morning I found one.  My booster is tomorrow morning.

Even these two get why it is important to be clear.  It doesn't change the need to protect the hospitals but it does make a difference in establishing trust between the populace and the authorities.  This was always a very important point that some places (e.g. Sweden) did well and others (e.g. US) failed.

Trust of the CDC is pretty much gone, liberals and conservatives both no longer believe anything from them and that is bad for more reasons than just covid, there are plenty of other health issues and they have damaged their credibility

Right after checking the weather every day I always go to Steve Bannon’s War Room for today's update on latest health issues

Here is an article talking very much about truth and transparency.  I don't have time to copy/paste here.  One data point is the assertion by the Baltimore Health Commissioner that the CDC continuing to recommend cloth masks in the presence of Omicron is "unconscionable".  I'm sure that will go over well here for a number of opinionated posters in here :P

The CDC knows that people are not going to wear the proper masks because they when worn for long periods are not comfortable. So that puts them in a bind because of kids in school. If they say cloth masks are no good then what ? The administration and the CDC have been such a disaster that in 3 years if trump is not president again and someone with the brains of kid rock the head of the CDC I would be shocked.

This is where the trust comes in. Kids in school shouldn’t be wearing them. Certainly not to protect against Omicron.

Wearing cloth masks when it was hard to get N95 masks was a reasonable precaution.

Well, half the country isn’t even wearing masks to school, so…

For the usual group of imbeciles that didn’t understand, here it is in bullet points.

You still won’t understand, but whatever.

Not to mention that comorbidities are not the same thing as preexisting conditions. The top two comorbidities among Covid deaths are pneumonia and respiratory failure.

I'm sure these facts will finally convince the imbeciles.

Right, N95 masks are expensive and inaccessible to many students, and cloth masks are better than no masks.  That should be the messaging.

Yep. It's "unconscionable" that some people are incapable of understanding this despite all the data to date.

What do you suggest we do now with Omicron? N95s for everyone?

Meh, I've worn a KN95 at work every day for the past two years, sometimes working two jobs that can total up to 10-12 hours in a mask. I don't mind it. In fact, I barely notice it. Americans are just a bunch of big, whiny babies.

you following bannon is not a surprise. we now all have a realistic view into how your mind works.

thanks for the clarification when none was needed.

I suggest you social distance and wear an N95 mask. I suggest you wash your hands. I suggest that if your THINK you MIGHT have been exposed you ought to act like you were exposed until that is proven false. Contact tracing to find out who you might have exposed, etc.

I spent the last week in quarantine and then having swabs jammed into my fore-brain because some idiot decided to wait for the positive test result to mention his exposure. That is how you spread COVID. Don't be as dumb as he and his wife were.
