Sometimes, an elementary teacher might need to briefly pull their mask down to let students see them mouth the words, but as for the kids in the masks, I don't see how it would be detrimental to their development. For the most part, I've found that kids "get it" better than most adults, and the youngest are often the most mask-conscious of the bunch. It's just that their parents are a bunch of entitled wimps who project their emotional fragility onto their kids.

The fact is, we really don't know fully what kind of damage we've done to kids. We know that teachers have absolutely sucked at educating throughout this process, as test scores/reading comprehension/pretty much every metric has shown a significant decline. All for a virus that poses almost no threat to children at all. Sad.
