So - how many of the measles cases in the US were vaccinated?

I do get vaccine science - and that is why the efficacy of the current COVID vaccines is still in question.  Demanding that the public get booster upon booster is madness if we have no real idea of efficacy, not to mention any long-term side effects, wouldn't you agree?

For the billionth time, the long-term side effects of viruses are real and tangible. The long term side effects of vaccines are basically non-existent. You can't pretend to "work in vaccines" and "understand the science" when you keep repeating laughably uninformed talking points from Fox news.

Toaster would rather talk about some dude who drinks urine than official statistics provided to the military's DMED system. I can't think of a poster doing anything more on brand than that.

Come on guys. At least pretend you read his earlier post so he isn't sad all day

Local HS just closed due to Covid case count.  This comes less than a month after they decided to stop requiring close contacts to quarantine as long as they were asymptomatic, regardless of vaccination status.  Wonder if there could be a correlation between the 2 events?

Not really. Moderate effectiveness against Covid and known to cause carnage in the womb.

Maybe Merck will repurpose the drug as an abortifacient. There's certainly money in that.

Hmm, that doesn't sound great.  Is ivermectin more effective?

The virus is everywhere. I think it's just as likely staff and students would have contracted it elsewhere, closing the school anyway. Maybe the change in school policy exacerbated the problem? I am resigned it doesn't really matter what they chose to do, it was going to happen anyway.

These numbers are absolutely bonkers. Are they just lies or do we have a serious issue on our hands?

So this data is just made up or...?

Apparently.

So why would Merck say otherwise?  You would think they would go out and get that $$$

I think the jab jockeys are freaking out.

We have absolutely no idea how long the first two shots last or how long the booster or any subsequent boosters might last, but we can say definitively that we already know there are no long term side effects of these brand new vaccines. Sounds very scientific.

Absolutely.  Omicron is running thru everything.  Over here Denmark is about to reach herd immunity as a combination of vaccine and Omicron.  They are going to lift ALL restrictions again in less than a week.  We are about three weeks behind them here in Sweden but the sheet is everywhere.  The good news is the hospitals are still not affected in any serious manner by COVID and neither is the death count.  Everyone at both my work and my wife's work is just working thru it when they've come down with it.  One or two people have felt bad enough that they've missed a day but that's it.  Likely the high level of vaccination is preventing the serious cases from occurring but you can forget about stopping Omicron.

They aren't "at work".  They are at home working.  The point is that they are just mildly affected.

Important distinction.

We just finally were able to celebrate Christmas and two birthdays together this past weekend, thanks to people getting sick and going to work like idiots.

The numbers aren't broken down by the CDC re vaccinated vs not. But given how contagious measles is and how highly vaccinated the US is for measles I'd be surprised if it was 0.

And no I wouldn't agree and it's crap like this that makes me question your knowledge base despite your insistence you work in the field. You're weighing known acute and chronic consequences of respiratory viruses vs a theoretical long term effect from a vaccine that is not present in any other modern vaccine available, despite the fact they operate along the same pathway. And while efficacy in limiting spread is a reasonable question to discuss, you're ignoring the fact that 1) it very clearly and dramatically limits severe disease and 2) every single routine vaccine we give requires at least one booster. It's a completely asinine argument and frankly and insane opinion to have if you truly have experience with vaccines research.

I got everything down except one decoration that is staked into the frozen ground.  I'll have to check later today to see if the ground thawed enough.
