March 1, 20223 yr @vikas83 , since you probably have been busy today, heads up; If you ever go into @Dave Moss’s rape basement, wear a mask. There is a pandemic and you don’t want to make a bad situation worse.

Your pediatrician would be unequivocal about this and I would love to see you tell them "well that's your opinion and it doesn't make me wrong or you wrong." Nothing to justify or reframe. You’re not a pediatrician. You’re a rando from a political sub-forum of a professional football team’s message board. 6 minutes ago, vikas83 said: Update Surgery was a success. Did you have the surgeon inject the liquefied cash while they were in there?

No, I'm not, but I have a pretty damn good idea what they will say. This isn't some difficult dilemma, and there actually is a pediatrician that posts here who will tell you the same thing. But you won't ask him or your pediatrician because you also know exactly what they'll say and you already know it's not the answer you want to hear.

Not sure why you feel the need to always resort to personal attacks against anyone whose opinion differs than yours. I guarantee you don’t talk to people like this in person. The theory with the most traction around here is that WGB is height challenged and is venting his frustrations on the EMB.

My kids are vaccinated with everything else. So yes, specifically for this one, I’d like to wait a bit until there’s some more long-term data. That doesn’t make me wrong or you wrong. I’ve also never watched an episode of Sean Hannity in my life. Now back to the Ukraine thread where our views more closely align. Same boat as you. Wife and I vaccinated. Kids are not. Boy had omicron (ironically he wears his mask everywhere). He was down for 24 hours then fine. My kids are very active and healthy. Not a high risk. I don't see the point. All the kids in their classes, sports and such that have had covid recovered quickly and are fine. Hell we've been doing youth sports (baseball, football, basketball, softball, gymnastics and karate) since the beginning of this crap. Somehow we've survived. Just had to nuke ourselves.

What would have to change to make it alright to vaccine the kids? The vaccine is tested. We already know it is safe and effective. Contracting the virus is 10 times worse unvaxxed than having had the vaccine. So if your kids were already exposed to the virus... If they fought it off no problem, they should have no trouble with the vaccine. What else is in the vaccine that would give you any pause? Considering the bad stuff that causes things like myocarditis... They got much more of it in the virus than they would get from the vaccine. My position was we were in a race to get the kids vaxxed before being exposed, especially after schools opened up in the fall. Luckily we made it. Health department called us with a close contact in school in December, just weeks after the youngest got his last dose. No symptoms in my household.

Yeah, I don't understand why this line of thinking is vilified. You handle your household however you like, and I'll do the same in mine.

I'm not one of these nuts who thinks their kid will drop dead on the floor of CVS after getting jabbed. I just don't see the point of rushing into it when the risk of waiting is beyond miniscule, and my kids are in perfect health and have natural antibodies already.

I am not sure how we would have responded if a kid came down with omicron before getting jabbed... It seems we were weeks away from that decision. So I'm happy we did not hesitate. If there's a 6th or 7th wave next fall, and there's an updated vaccine, would you then consider getting the kids vaxxed? COVID immunity seems to wane over time.

If a kid came down with Omicron, there's a 99%+ chance that they'd be fine. My two both had the OG Covid and had mild symptoms. Not sure what our decision would be in the fall to be honest, but I do agree their natural immunity will wane.

Many of my kids friends, classmates, and parents got it. Some of them had upcoming vaccine appointments scheduled and had to cancel. We got the vaccine to curb our potential symptoms and spread. It's more for the community, not so much for us.

March 1, 20223 yr I can't imagine how abusive you have to be as a parent to vaccinate your kid against something that poses zero risk to them especially when you consider how ineffective the vaccine is at preventing transmission of the omicron variant. Just terrible.
