You were wrong about masks even as more and more research showed they were working.  You should at least own that.  But we both know you won’t because you’re dishonest and a fraud.

Sigh.  For the 100th time, masks are one tool and they are useful in controlling the spread of COVID when used correctly and in the right circumstances.  This is exactly what I said once we opened the discussion and I haven't wavered.

My God you’re pathetic.

Thanks for confirming my point.  You have absolutely nothing.  Just another troll job.

Pass the info to Munson and get your chores done so you can watch some basketball in a bit.

If I had to guess part of the reason you were posting so much disinformation about masking was due to the leg work being done by the Swedish government.  You thought you were getting accurate info but as it turns out you weren’t.  It’s Ok to admit that.

Btw, it’s still six hours to tip time.

Well except I didn't post any disinformation.  None.

What I did do was explanation how the Swedish authorities reached their decisions.  All of those weren't optimal especially from a timing perspective.  I think we all knew that nobody would get it 100% since we were shooting in the dark for much of the crisis and the situations were fluid and local.

Go back five pages in the thread.  You were arguing with several posters about the effectiveness of masks even going as far as to say recent studies suggesting the usefulness of masking would be "debunked.”

Yeah, just the standard every other week Moss baiting me and my biting.  Again, he has nothing.  Just pokes and never actually adds anything.

I'm going to dig into that article at some point.  Looks very interesting.  A deep retrospective which will no doubt highlight mistakes, lack of urgency, etc.

We were arguing about the effectiveness of masks "in elementary schools and during Omicron" you dope.  Especially cloth masks.

Stop

I actually have to catch up on the exchange. I just checked quick while I'm out and found it funny how my offhand comment really set this thread off this morning

Yeah, all good fun in here.  Moss can tell Munson he trolled me into five or six replies.  His day has been a success.  Now on to the basketball.  Go Nova!

You said the study would be debunked because there were too many factors.   I just find that comical.  I apologize that I’ve been too busy during the week to read your drivel.

Have you seen all the discussion on Philly sports twitter about whether Villanova is a Philly school or not?   It’s crazy

I said that it would be nearly impossible to get any clear indication of any specific measure's level of effectiveness because it wasn't possible to isolate it vs. other parameters.  That's been the case for all of these studies so far.  Remember, we are talking about masking in schools now.  What we can say is that a mix of measures in schools has helped reduce the spread pre Omicron.  That's a fair statement.  Masks were part of that mix though we can't say what part masks played specifically.

No but that's an old topic so I can guess.  St Joe isn't in the city either.  The bigger issue is that Villanova stopped playing games in the Palestra and pretty much made the Big Five a secondary topic to conference play. That pissed off the rest of the basketball community in Philly and rightly so.  Been a chip on their shoulders ever since.

St. Joe’s is right on the city line though right?

They stopped playing a full big 5 schedule for years and tanked the whole tradition. Bunch of Main Line losers who will end up as assistant managers at Banana Republic.

I haven't been dishonest one single time.  Not once.  Happy to debate that if you like.

Sweden made some early bad decisions.  I've always said that.  Sweden was also much more restrictive in forced policy.  Some of that made no real difference since the group pressure and cultural norms were enough to ensure distancing, working from home, etc.  Other things were less restrictive such as never suspending in person primary schooling and not mandating masks.  So a mix which I've always been up front with the entire time.

Only after the election though

There ya go. From the Penn guy. I grew up a Penn fan and played a championship high school game in a packed Palestra. I love that place. I hated what Nova did as well.

Pretty close yeah.

Part of the problem with the debate about masking in the schools is that if you argue against it there’s an implicit argument that masks don’t work and vice versa.  But I get there’s also the pedagogical argument against it to take into account.  I don’t know…

It was the right move though.  They’re far better than the other Philly teams now.

I didn’t like that Penn State ended it’s football rivalries when it joined the Big 10 either though.  I particularly liked the PSU-Notre Dame game although I guess it was only 12 years that they played each other.

I still don’t like the Penn Stare move.
