January 11, 20241 yr "He testified that the lab leak hypothesis — which was often suppressed — was, in fact, not a conspiracy theory,” "The release noted that the admission came "nearly four years after prompting the publication of the now infamous ‘Proximal Origin’ paper that attempted to vilify and disprove the lab leak hypothesis.” The release also said Fauci, who denied trying to pressure the CIA on the lab-leak theory, "played semantics with the definition of a ‘lab-leak.’” Depends what the definition of "is" is.
January 11, 20241 yr This is true. It is a well known fact a cough can travel for miles. Whole concept of not getting right on top of people during a pandemic was just silly talk.

January 11, 20241 yr I love how they act like this is some earth shattering admission. You can go back in this very thread to find an article that dove into the history of the research of droplet vs aerosol spread and most of the droplet spread studies actually supported a 3-foot distancing guideline, whereas aerosol spread studies were much farther like up to 10 ft or more (with a much higher emphasis on proper masking.) A lot of the droplet spread assumptions were based on super old studies on flu which turned out to be poor analogs for something like covid. Hell, as soon as Delta and Omicron hit, all those distancing guidelines were null and void anyway. Those variants needed a much smaller infectious dose to infect someone so those plexiglass barriers and face shields became entirely pointless.

Basically it dates back to a misinterpretation of tuberculosis research decades ago that led to improper guidance for all other respiratory pathogens since then. https://www.wired.com/story/the-teeny-tiny-scientific-screwup-that-helped-covid-kill/ ^This is the article. But I guess it makes for a catchier story to just say "OMG FAUCI LIED AND JUST MADE IT UP!" for the simple minds with short attention spans that can't be bothered to read beyond the headline.
January 11, 20241 yr Since @Procus and @lynched1 both clearly go to the same sites for the same disinformation, I was wondering if they could share their targeted ads. Are they for commodities like helmets and tinfoil, or more specific to whatever the conspiracy of the month is, like horse dewormer.

There's plenty of conspiracy stuff in both, but Procus is also reverse mortgages/Life Alert and Lynched is all glory hole related.

So educate us on the origins of the social distancing rule and while you're at it - provide us with current information validating it's effectiveness. We're all ears on this one.
