Crazy, you'd almost wish there was some sort of governing body that could support those subject to the things on that iceberg during difficult times like a global pandemic.

Stockholmare väntar på bussen vid Sickla bro.

Middle of Stockholm.  Yes there are people in the streets but they are behaving for the most part.  Certainly not everyone but the vast majority.

1 day after beaches around me are open, and it seems social distancing is a thing of the past. Just on my 20 or so minute walk with the dog in the suburbs and there is a cornhole tournament between 10 or so teens, a house with 7 cars parked outside (on my block, usually 2 max) and a full blown soccer game. I imagine the beaches are also packed. We'll see what happens.

Even if everything were to open up here today, I'm not running out to hang out with the masses. I'm hanging here and seeing how it works out for yas.

It was the perfect lockdown

Guess it all depends on what strategy one is looking to run.

I have a colleague with a husband who is a nurse and in the COVID ward in a Stockholm hospital and another good friend who's wife is in the COVID ward in a hospital in Uppsala (170k city just north of Stockholm a bit) and both say they are not overwhelmed and have empty ICU beds.  That was the report from each of them yesterday.

WAY WAY too early to look at the scoreboard and make any conclusions.  Sweden is playing the long game plus none of those numbers account for population, density of population, etc. etc.

Should we use the US gross numbers vs. Canada and then make some conclusions?

Trump is going to declare his decision the best and everyone else’s the worst.  He’s already trying to spike the ball after 60,000 deaths

One day Trump praises Sweden for being partly open and the next he does a 180 and bashes.  Maybe Opengeo is Trump.

I’m pretty sure Geo’s account was run by 2 people.  Trump is just Trump.  😁

There's a long game to consider, but Sweden is over 6x the deaths per million compared to its neighbors.

Good lord it's hard to believe that leading lights like Michelle 0bama have to waste their time reminding idiot Trumpbots to stay home for the sake of us all but, thankfully, she'll put us before herself and do so anyway.

Well you'd need to show me that the numbers have the same base.  For example Sweden counts all nursing home deaths.  Are you sure that is the case with the others?  Also, vs Denmark is more like 3x not 6x.

The UK government is a joke.

For weeks they've been comparing death tolls whilst we were doing ok. Now that we are projected to be second worst in the world the data is unreliable.

Their messaging has been atrocious and they have handled this pandemic awfully. Poor decision making, reacting too late and mixed messaging. And don't get me started with how they come across on daily press conferences and interviews.

That would be more accurate if it was an hourly change of direction.

He's off course.

Has anyone else noticed a significant drop in the amount of junk mail that they're getting since all of this has been going on?

What's lockdown like in the US? I don't think it's as strict as here.
