September 17, 20206 yr So my opening NFL weekend was ruined by a guy who was invited over to watch the games. Didn't know him, he was just renting out one of our apts, but I felt sorry for him asking about where to watch the games and knowing that bars were going to be ify propositions at best. Almost immediately the dude goes an anti mask rants, his freedom, yadad yadda. Ok, whatever, that's debate territory. A couple drinks in he dives into a straight up racist comment (i had a black friend over who has been wearing maks religously because takes care of his elderly mom). Yeah. Luckily the guy realized what he had done, disappeared for a bit and when he came back didn't mention any of it again rest of day. But wow. This guy is clearly a highly inteligent person. There is no way in hell he just walks into somebody's house and goes on that kind of diatribe 5 years ago. It's Trump. I know we have an instinctive urge to not give single people in history too much credit and search for the underlying factors. But it's Trump who has made loud, racist stupidity go in style.

What matters is if what she is saying is true, not your perceived political repercussions. I almost got bounced off another site yesterday as my anger at grieving and having to vote once again for the lesser of the 2 evils has me wound up pretty tight. l am trying to limit my exposure to all of this or I may end up depressed and I don't want that. Anyway, Trump has been my prime target but I know that needs to stop as well. I really need to find something else to do in my free time. /rant

I don't know why I feel the need to go on CNN.com all the time. It's literally the first thing I do every morning. I was never like this. I was never angry or scared of a president winning another four years. I have clinical depression and anxiety. This whole thing isn't making it better, but I don't know how to stop myself. I'm at the point to where if Trump wins, I think we are all dead from either the virus, the vaccine for the virus or Trump's wanting to start a war with another country because they made fun of his hair.

As Covid-19 infections spike to record numbers, European governments are imposing strict local measures and weighing up further lockdowns in a bid to halt a second wave of the pandemic. But WHO regional director Hans Kluge said at a Thursday news conference that the increase in cases should serve as a warning of what is to come. "Weekly cases have now exceeded those reported when the pandemic first peaked in Europe in March," Kluge said. "Last week, the region's weekly tally exceeded 300,000 patients." More than half of European nations have reported an increase of more than 10% in new cases in the past two weeks, Kluge added. "Of those, seven countries have seen newly reported cases increase more than two-fold in the same period," he said. "In the spring and early summer we were able to see the impact of strict lockdown measures. Our efforts, our sacrifices, paid off. In June cases hit an all-time low. The September case numbers, however, should serve as a wake-up call for all of us," he said. "Although these numbers reflect more comprehensive testing, it also shows alarming rates of transmission across the region." While there was an increase in cases in older age groups, those aged 50 to 79, in the first week of September, Kluge said, the biggest proportion of new cases is still among 25- to 49-year-olds. New restrictions In France, Covid-19 hospitalizations have risen in recent days in large cities such as Paris, Bordeaux and Marseille. In total more than 31,000 people died there from the disease, out of more than 443,000 cases, according to Johns Hopkins University (JHU). Now, the number of new infections is rising fast.
