A draft press release obtained by The Post showed that the Postal Service was preparing to send out 650 million face masks in April to supply every household with them. However, a senior administration official told The Post that the White House nixed the plan because officials thought "receiving masks might create concern or panic." Pretty sure anyone who is going to wear a mask already has one. Seems like a smart idea not to send them out and save a few bucks.

I mean, I think this may have made sense in March or April, but now? I like the mask I got, I don't need the federal government to buy me a new one. I suspect most people feel exactly the same way.

The story’s just coming out now.

September 19, 20205 yr Hey all, for anyone interested, my dad sat for an interview with a friend of mine who is a professor at Emory University and originally from the area. It’s pretty good.

September 19, 20205 yr Report from Sweden. The rule prohibiting visitation inside in the nursing homes will be lifted as of Oct 1. The motivation is that the net positive value of allowing visitation is greater than the net negative due to the increased COVID risk.
September 19, 20205 yr I just listened to a report from Denmark. They are in the process of spiking up quickly right now. They believe that a major contributor are the 20-29 group who've been gathering in groups in parks, etc. to get around the restrictions in bars/cafes. In fact the group that is ramping up the most is the 20-29 year olds.

Sure let's wear face masks, let's work from home if we can etc but we need to get back to normal life. Another lock down across the UK will kill our economy for good. The entertainment industry will be done.

I'm going to stick to just providing information as it is available and relevant. I'll only say one thing and that is that we do not have a full picture of this thing or how it impacts society overall and as such we are all in part just guessing (that doesn't mean we don't have lots of data because we do but the data is still very much both incomplete and inconclusive). Anyone representing "the truth" with this topic is full of sheet. Having said that we are certainly capable of delivering facts and truth on some points, e.g. Trump was a complete and utter disaster with regard to COVID, masks when used properly help control the spread, etc.

The UK have handled things appallingly and we are in a mess too. I just think at this point we need to get back to normal of some kind. Going in to another lock down is not going to do the UK any good for the medium to long term. Mental health issues, the economy and the overall outlook of the country just can't sustain another in my view.
