But I think that's what needs to happen. At this point we have to go back to normal. Sure let's wear face masks, let's work from home if we can etc but we need to get back to normal life. Another lock down across the UK will kill our economy for good. The entertainment industry will be done.

The solution has been obvious since mid April imho.  Mask up and sanitize in public, distance when possible, do not gather in large groups, take extra precautions with the elderly.  Otherwise go about your business. The best solution for teachers was probably giving out danger pay like they did with the nurses and offering opt outs for the old ones.

This was back in April, not now.

Yea, Van already corrected me.  Didn't see that it was in April the first time around.  Agree that at that point, it probably would have been a good idea to send them out.

Further proof that you're not lalone. He'd have dug his heels in and gone on a multi-page rant about how we all misunderstood what he meant, and how he was right all along, only to be followed by probs posting a couple pages of coke snorting gifs.

Absolutely! That's what we need to do now. Go back to normal but be cautious and be safe. Just limit exposure.

Updated CDC guidance acknowledges coronavirus can spread through the air

From CNN's Naomi Thomas

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated guidance on its website to say coronavirus can commonly spread "through respiratory droplets or small particles, such as those in aerosols," which are produced even when a person breathes.

"Airborne viruses, including Covid-19, are among the most contagious and easily spread," the site now says.

Previously, the CDC page said that Covid-19 was thought to spread mainly between people in close contact -- about 6 feet (approximately 1.8 meters) -- and "through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks."

Now, the page reads:

"There is growing evidence that droplets and airborne particles can remain suspended in the air and be breathed in by others, and travel distances beyond 6 feet (for example, during choir practice, in restaurants, or in fitness classes). In general, indoor environments without good ventilation increase this risk."

CDC removes information on airborne virus transmission, citing publishing error

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention swiftly edited its website page describing how the novel coronavirus spreads on Monday morning, removing recently added language that said it was "possible” that the virus spread via airborne transmission.

The agency had posted information Friday suggesting the virus can transmit over a distance beyond six feet and that indoor ventilation is key to protection against its spread. Many aerosol experts have been advancing that idea for months, and it appeared that the agency had come around to their point of view.

But the Friday update was posted in error, the CDC said.

"Unfortunately, an early draft of a revision went up without any technical review,” said Jay Butler, the CDC’s deputy director for infectious diseases. "We are returning to the earlier version and revisiting that process. It was a failure of process at CDC.”

So in the UK we are set for a 10pm curfew...

Did you guys know that the virus goes to bed at 10pm and can't be spread after such time?

The president just told us it only affects the elderly, so no worries.

Numbers reporting ticking up now in Stockholm for confirmed cases though no specific levels reported so hard to get a grasp on what it means in detail.  Nothing yet in terms of people being admitted to the hospital.  This deserves close scrutiny to see if a 2nd wave is coming here as well.

Welp

Actually, I think that means that the virus wakes up at 10pm - hence the curfew.  You can't get it before 10pm, but you can after!

Where I live, if you go somewhere and ONLY drink a beer, you can contract the virus, but if you drink a beer AND eat food, you're immune.  This virus is so advanced it blows my mind.  Then again, being developed in a lab probably makes it more intelligent.

I actually haven’t eaten inside a restaurant in over six months, and if I had to guess there’s a bunch of other people on here in the same boat.

Oh yeah good point! Yeah the virus is so advanced that it only comes out during the night and anytime before 10pm you are safe.
