Got my first dose of the experimental Moderna vaccine an hour ago.

I guess my arm is a tiny bit sore but otherwise feel fine. I cannot be more excited to get back to normal life as quick as possible.

Don't hold your breath waiting on normal, as long as the mass compliance continues normal won happen, ever!!

Not only that, come flu season there's a chance life is over for all that get the jab.

So when your regulatory agency DOES approve something, and you take it, and then crap goes wrong, then what?

Put yourself in the shoes of a European right now.

Like I said, cop out.

Well it only killed a few people, who were probably overweight because they didn't work out enough to begin with so by your logic its fine.

I have no ties to the European regulatory agencies so I really have no desire to defend them for what appears to be possibly the wrong decision. Not really sure what you're looking for.

I guess I should rephrase normal as "normal for the rest of us, and the typical difficult life of daily injustices that EagleVA suffers through consistently"

Even the best vaccine affects a small percentage of people adversely.

It is a risk.

COVID vaccines rates are about 10 times higher than comparable flu vaccines.

Quote

11.1 cases per million versus an estimated 1.3 cases per million

If people are telling you it is perfect, they are lying.

Also, as far as I know, you have a choice, right? You can choose to weigh the benefit of COVID vs vaccine.

Welcome to the dark side.  May I invite you for a jog in the park?

So... it's possibly the wrong decision. Just like the others could possibly be the wrong decision.  You just don't know.  You have NO idea what the effects are of the shots, or now the proposed third shot / booster shots, 10 years down the road.

And you think I'm a nut for weighting (heh) on this one?   I'm sure as hell not giving it to my children, even if it is approved for kids under 6. F that.

Right, but you have people IN THIS THREAD calling for banning work, travel, and gathering for people who decline the vaccine.

I don't think the Orange Buffoon was the only one with aspirations for dictatorship...

Yes the AZ rollout in Europe is possibly the wrong the decision. I don't really have enough info on that one to say that it is or isn't. But the fact that they paused usage of it is definitely not good.

No I don't think the vaccines approved for use in the US are the wrong decision. Considering they have administered over 100 million doses so far and they have been approved for use by the appropriate agencies here.

I never said you were a nut for waiting* on getting it. You can do whatever you want. I'm glad actually, then other people who want it can get it faster.

who here called for banning work & travel?  maybe i missed it.

CNN during the 7 PM broadcast

No vaccine, no work, no travel, Sick is what trumpbots deserve to be if they refuse the vaccine

@mr_hunt

The way I see it, if you don't want the vaccine then fine whatever.

I'd think that enough people will want it that once they're all covered, the remaining population who will possibly get sick won't be enough to overwhelm hospitals and won't put the high risk people in significant danger because they are vaccinated.

Just depends on the number of people I guess who refuse to be vaccinated and how densely located they are.

lol Quoting a Joe Shades post about tv news as a source of news is an all time great move here.

I'd support revoking Trumpbots ability to work/travel as a public safety measure, but that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the vaccine.

The government can't force people to get the vaccine. And since it is an EUA, employers can't force employees to get it either (they can once it is fully approved in a couple years). So morons are free to be morons.

However -- if airlines want to ban people who aren't vaccinated, that is their right as a private company. Same for restaurants, theme parks, hotels, etc. I'm guessing we may see airlines take that step -- they want people back on the planes and feeling safe.

Employers can require it if they choose. You can choose to seek employment elsewhere.

Only after formal approval, they can't force it while under an EUA. We looked into this because we had a MAGA anti-vaxxer. Luckily, she quit last week.

No. It was quoted weird there, but those were two separate responses separated by a quote. Like so:

Go back and read it. It wasn't a quote of CNN. It was his opinion.

For someone that is so smart, you're acting pretty dumb on this.  Anti-vaxxing on MMR is one thing. Anti-vaxxing on COVID trial / EUA vaccines is a whole different ball game.

Like Vikas said, eventually they will. If you work in health care you're required to get a flue shot every year. This will be no different.

Ever since my first vaccine, I keep having very vivid, very sexual dreams about Bill Gates.  Can't wait to see what happens after my second!

Yeah, it's the same. I may be Indian, but I'm not a doctor. I'll listen to my actual doctor to whom I pay tens of thousands of dollars.

Watching this is giving me PTSD from 2008-2009, when every idiot on the planet somehow designated himself a financial market expert. Now, everyone is an expert on medicine and vaccines. It has to make doctors want to scream.

And you're a walking example of failing to answer the question.

"Correct" was clearly facetious.

Read the thread. You think I and others are idiots for not getting vaccinated.

I'll ask again: what do you tell those that got the AstraZeneca shot and are now having strokes and dying due to clotting?

Right, like where I "bragged" about my degree or told you to skip masks indoors.

You all are a bunch of hypocrites.

Answer the question.

What do you tell people who got the AstraZeneca shot? "Oops, sorry - its experimental!"???

I don’t think you’re an idiot for not getting vaccinated.  I don’t think you’re making a good decision for not getting vaccinated.  But I understand where people are wary of getting it.

Has it been shown that the AZ vaccine caused those incidents?  Also haven’t there been doubts about the effectiveness of the AZ vaccine?  In a recent trial tested against the South African variant, the AZ vaccine wasn’t anymore effective than the placebo.
