though, the numbers dropped instantly when I stopped eating eggs twice a day.

Of course. It had nothing to do with the medication lowering the levels.  Best of luck to you

When I have had to stay at a hotel without a Peloton, I'll try and use the app to take the classes. You can get close by guessing on cadence and resistance.

Still prefer the bike itself though to get the measurements (output, TSS, etc.) so I can track performance.

Have you upgraded our bike or do you still have the original?  Kind of annoyed they came out with the upgraded versions like within a year of when we purchased.

For the cruise conversation - no thanks, and I love being on a boat.  I love sailing and I love being on the water.  But with a bunch of cattle being herded all over the place no thanks.  We chartered a private sailing trip on our honeymoon and that was amaze.  Visited a bunch of tiny archipelago islands in the Adriatic off the coast of Croatia.  There are so many places to see and spend quality time at immersed into the local culture that spending a majority of the time in a hotel floating around doesn't seem appealing.  I mean if it's a private yacht off the coast of Greece or something though count me in.  All inclusives kind of suck too.  paco loves them because he can eat and drink all day and not think - I don't mind sitting on the beach all day being served cocktails while I catch up on some Hemingway, but if I had to choose, I'd prefer traveling to new countries or citiies and exploring.

I hadn't even picked up the prescription yet, but thanks.  It was still high well, dangerous - 400+.  Over 100 is high. Over 250 is dangerous.   But I went on a Thursday and then immediately on a Monday because she thought the lab screwed up.  Nope, it was me.

Waiting on delivery of my new bike -- should get by the end of the month. I've worn the old one out. Was the wife's birthday gift to me (which I requested).

We are the inverse of that commercial.

Your cholesterol was over 400? Holy hell -- how are you alive? What was the LDL?

If only in the very beginning of this pandemic they would have had IFB at one of those daily press conference to share his amazing and inspiring weight loss journey and ability to overcome graduating from only the 40th best business school in the country..

The country and perhaps the entire world would have been saved.

I'll be curious to hear what you think about the new one.  Not that we will be spending money on a new one any time soon - but I have been lobbying for a second one for our beach condo.

I don't remember.  But I know the first triglyceride reading was 1105.  Then 430 something.  I haven't tested again, she wants me on the medication for six months.  I go back in April.

Will let you know. My existing one is worn out and developing some rust (I'm a sweater). When I ride a new one at a hotel, the pedal stroke is so much smoother.

Wow. Good luck dude. I'm no expert/doctor, but that seems pretty damn serious.

You know what's annoying though is that if you buy a second one, you have to set up a whole separate account to pay for it.. like you can't have it under your main account that you pay the content for.  I know that doesn't make a difference for you, money bags, but it's definitely hurting my argument for a second one lol.

Really? I can't just log in on my existing account?

Not sure what we are going to do with the existing bike. Probably just junk it. Maybe move it onto the roof deck.

My parents love cruises, and they sound like the seventh circle of hell to me. You honestly couldn't pay me enough to get on one of those floating death traps.

My sister and her husband like them and our parents are fans as well.  But schmoopie and I are with you, they seem awful.  One Christmas they sprung it on us.  "We are all going on a cruise together, you should come with us!".  I froze.  How do I tell them "cruises are stupid and if you like cruise you are as well"?  But in a nice way because, you know, its Christmas.  So as I'm processing that schmoopie thinks quickly on her feet and bails me out.

We would love to but our doctor won't let us.  Zika.

No and I haven't been able to find a loophole for it.  I think it's because they allow so many users on one account - if they didn't make you get a separate account for every bike, people would just buy the bike but share the sub from someone else.

My mom kept pushing the family cruise vacation thing. I told her I am terrified of boats and refuse to get on one.

Of all the people in the world to be trapped on a floating petri dish with, my parents would be bottom of the list.

So you made me look this up, and I know feel very good about my cholesterol results. So...thanks?

I have friends who love them.  I despise them.  They convinced my wife to go a few years ago and I reluctantly agreed because happy wife happy life yada yada.  Thought divorce was imminent about 10 minutes after boarding.  A tiny cabin with 2 adults and 2 kids.  They try to up charge you on everything.  You don't get to spend nearly enough time on an island to enjoy it.  It's hurry up go do an activity and get back to the boat.

I really need to go on an Adult's only all-inclusive trip with the wife when this craps all over.  We go on one every year as a break from life.  We usually go to Secrets resorts since the wife can snag some awesome deals with EE perks and stuff at cost.  That's my jam.  Park my ass at the pool bar or beach and drink and eat the day away with no kids to bother us.

Right before this all went down, schmoopie and I were planning on going here

We were originally going to go in 2019 to celebrate our 5th anniversary, but then all those Americans were getting murdered.  So we decided to go to Miami for the Eagles-Dolphins game instead.  We make excellent choices

Try the Four Seasons in Nevis. Secluded and fantastic.

But we stayed in a Penthouse room at The Confidante on Miami Beach and it made all my mid-mod and Rat Pack dreams come true!

late to this, but you can pick up a magnetic heavy fly weight spin bike for a few hundred bucks on Amazon, get a tablet and the peloton app, and come out much cheaper than the actual peloton. You can get cadence sensors to put on the pedals, as well, so you know where you’re at in relation to where the instructor wants you to be.

Thanks!

Cholesterol battles are a pain. Mine has been high since my early 20's. When I first got mine measured it came in at 235. At the time I was 5'10 and 145lbs, so definitely more genetics than BMI. Both my parents had/have high cholesterol. My dad ignored it for years until he had a massive heart attack last fall. I can control it with diet and exercise, but its creeping back up despite that. This year I might finally have to go on meds for it.

1. Is the food actually high quality? Isn't it just mass produced dreck?

2. That's what I will never get -- if I want to go to the Caribbean, I'll just fly there and stay at the Four Seasons. Why do I need to spend 7 days getting there on a floating city with people I don't want anything to do with?

Food quality is mixed. Chef's dinners are generally good, but they're cooking for 100s of people dining at once so your food is likely to be sitting under a heat lamp. Your best bet is ordering something that isn't common, it's more likely to be freshly cooked.

The buffets are what they are. Buffets.

The better cruise lines have restaurants on board you pay a la carte for. So it's not included in the price, but you can get very good meals there.

I've done cruises with the fam because I like mixing in days of relaxation with days visiting various locations. But it's not for everyone.

We do that, too.  Haven't done Europe yet, just US.  It's a little different with kids.  Our all-inclusive vacations are just the wife and I.  Just a chance for us to unplug and enjoy each other.  We've done Colorado with the kids and stayed in Big Sky and did Yellowstone with them.  I enjoy nature more than cities.  So hikes, some fly fishing and site seeing is my speed.  Was going to visit @vikas83 last year because my daughter was supposed to go to a national gymnastics comp but that was cancelled so no California trip.

Ireland and Iceland are 2 trips on my bucket list.

We bought a JoRoto 2x bike for less than 500... bought the wahoo cadence sensor  for 45 bucks and now just bought a resistance meter that someone created and sold on etsy for 30 bucks... it hooks up to the JoRoto bike and tells you the peleton resistance.

We airplay the digital app to our apple tv in the basement.  It's basically the same experience....We love it.

I get bored at all-inclusives but we went on our first cruise right before the lockdowns last year (with no issue) and we loved it.  I would go back after being vaccinate in a heartbeat.  We did Norwegian but i could see Royal Caribbean or Celebrity in the future.  The only thing is that we would want to spend more to get a bigger room with the kids... perhaps one with a separate bedroom.  A regular cabin with 4 people including 2 kids is alot.

That is the understatement of the year.  It is rough.  One thing the cruise did do well was the kids club.  Could drop them there and go see a comedy show/performance sneak back to the room for some alone time.  So at least we could get a little adult time.
