I'll never understand having other people do your grocery shopping. It can be a pretty big time saver, but its not without its faults. We've also done most of the mail order home prep meal kit companies, and found those to be more of a hassle, mostly because they seem to be more geared to couples rather than families.

April 13, 20214 yr I prefer to grocery shop myself. Other items I typically order, and have a bunch of stuff on auto order through Amazon. For wines I am part of a wine club and get 6 bottles sent every month. I drink wine a lot less in the summer so I end up accumulating a lot and have a full wine fridge plus some by the time the fall and holidays roll around. Works out well for us. For beer I have a lot of friends over on weekends because I like to cook and BBQ, and they always bring a lot more than needed as thanks for me cooking.

Aside from the weird substitution suggestions, apparently these people don't know what ripe means when it comes to avocados or bananas, or the difference between cilantro and parsley, or that short ribs means beef not spare ribs, etc. Can be frustrating when you have to go back out or change what you planned on making for dinner because people are stupid. The changing and/or running back out for other items is real and is a complete first world problem. The strangest substitution we got was a substitution of a large pack of toilet paper, which costs 17.99 for a pack of paper cups that costs 2.99. I called the woman to ask how this could have happened.... she said she was sorry and didn't understand either but did tell me i got a huge pack of toilet paper for 2.99.
April 13, 20214 yr I can't trust minimum wage workers to pick out my meats or produce. I should add, that I am particular about these items.

I can tolerate someone occasionally not being able to find something or if the store happens to be just out of something, but the most infuriating thing we've had so far was one time where the grocery bags smelled so bad of smoke. It was nauseating and some of the food smelled like it too. I was beyond pissed. First world problem or not, that ish was gross.
