A few years ago I had a beater pickup that I used for yard work, home depot runs and whatnot. The drive shaft came disconnected while driving it, and at first I didn't know what was wrong. So I pulled over and had to lay down in some tall weeds on the side of the road to look under it. I was there for like 30 seconds, saw what was wrong and stood up. In that 30 seconds I must have gotten anywhere from 25 to 50 ticks on me. I was covered. It definitely creeped me out.

Thanks for the nightmare fuel.  High five!  Maybe I'll post some pictures of large spiders to help spread the love.

Found a deer tick on me after ripping out some throne bushes last week.  Luckily little f'er didn't latch on.  <_<

I had lymes a few years ago.  No bullseye indicator, but after 4 days of non-stop almost flu like symptoms I finally went to the doc thinking I some how caught the flu in the middle of summer.  He said right away to get blood work to check for lymes.  Had some slight lyme titers in the sample.  Get the antibiotics and feeling better I decide to head back to work.  Driving to work I lose feeling in half my face.  Swelling around the nerves caused Bells Palsy.  A week or two of prednisone and I was back to normal.  Good times.

Have a similar story with washing my dog off in a pond and leeches 🤮

I'll take the leeches over ticks  though.  Disease ridden pieces of crap.

Nothing to be concerned about, buddy. Neither city dwellers nor anyone else on the planet wants to come anywhere near you.

Good!

I've never seen a leech but I would probably not take too kindly to having one on me.

We moved into a house in the country a few months ago. The previous owners hadn't lived there in around a year so everything was horribly overgrown, especially the back fields. We have an insane amount of ticks. I've probably gotten about 25 crawling on me and 3 stuck already this spring. Kind of looking in to getting the problem areas treated, but we have a westie who likes to lick/eat everything he comes in contact with, so we're a little hesitant to do it.

I got 2 kids in school. I need to live and breathe this crap to make sure I'm making informed decisions for their sake, not just my own. Their health is crucially important to me. Is it that much different than people living and breathing nutrition, diet, exercise, etc?

Your kids would be just fine if they got it.  Now with your diminutive stature and soft proportions, if they brought it home to you there would certainly be cause for concern.  That I can understand.

Already double vaxxed as of Saturday. Besides, no need to conflate me with your fantasies of Kz.

How is it there is a compilation video of all the ishlibs in CVON and I'm just now finding out about it? Come on, man!

Good!  My suggestion to you would be to get out, live a little.  I'd start small - maybe take a trip to the mailbox and back (without a mask).  Maybe by the end of summer you'll have the courage to walk around the block, who knows?  I have faith that you and some of the other corona bros in here will get through this.  I'm here for encouragement if you need me.

Some would say you still are not 100% safe after getting the vaccine

Thanks, man! And if you ever need encouragement to be less poor, we're here for you as well.

I may not be as rich as all the millionaires here in CVON, but I'm doing just fine!  I can afford to take my family to Applebee's once a month - some months we even splurge and hit up Red Lobster!

What are we gonna judge them on then?  The kindness in their hearts?

Hi Joey!  Good News!  While I was hesitant to call it late last week, it does appear that after a hiccup from eased restrictions, new cases are back on the decline.  Isn't that great?
