They told us they weren't needed because the medical profession needed them. It's a shame, they should have just told us the truth since most of us were home anyway.

Should have told the truth and worked with suppliers to restrict sales in order to prevent hoarding to ensure healthcare and essential workers had proper supplies.

I must have said A THOUSAND TIMES on here that long term lockdown is not feasible, not a sound strategy, and will cause more harm in other ways. And that every establishment/activity should be open provided that a mask can be worn while doing it. This would minimize economic harm while reducing risk of Covid spread.

While I do sort of understand the quest of cure vs treatment, it just not happening fast enough for some. We know that based on the approach we took, almost 600k people still died. Probably more, given excessive death numbers. Now that we're coming out of the pandemic thanks to at least the majority of adults being fully vaccinated in most areas, you want to monday-morning QB and act like "oh this wasn't even that big a deal!" BS. Body counts from Italy, Spain, NYC, and elsewhere make it deadly clear what we were facing. You're doing nothing more than trying to whitewash history.

Surgical masks are effective at reducing the chance that an infected person spreads viral particles to others. This was well known by basically everyone in the medical community. Even in Dr Fauci’s email to Sylvia burwell on Feb 5 he states this right there in the first sentence. He lied to the people in an effort to prevent people from hoarding them. This was wrong. He shouldn’t have done that. It helped sow distrust in the government.
