So I checked and the US was at 57% one jab and 49% full.  Sweden was at 58% one jab and 37% full.  US curve is totally flat.  Sweden is steep.  We will be past you on the full in a month and never look back.

Yeah I was kind of chuckling at the Republican’s reaction to the Biden administration wanting to go door-to-door.  Like it’s some Gestapo crap and not a public health initiative.

We’re effed.

Ban water and cars as well

Over the course of the pandemic, 49,000 Americans under the age of 18 have died of all causes, according to the CDC. Only 331 of those deaths have been from COVID — less than half as many as have died of pneumonia. In 2019, more than 2,000 American kids and teenagers died in car crashes; each year, according to some estimates, about a thousand die from drowning.

This analogy is silly. We already have taken many steps as a society to keep kids safe when they travel in cars, none of which included "banning cars". And again I'll say that death isn't the only metric, and we're still struggling to understand the long-term impacts of disease on kids.

Vikas has it right.  Given them an economic incentive and things will change.  Higher health care premiums seems like the way to go.

btw - This is a not so little side effect of having the situation get so political.  Trump gets most of the credit for that but not all of it.

This is a dumb argument since kids can pass COVID to those more at risk. It's not as black and white as "Kids don't die". If the vaccine is safe, everyone should be getting it. It's kind of crazy that this is an argument.

Sell those vaccines to the world that wants them.  Enough is enough, let Darwinism take over in red America.

And those people should get the vaccine, that is black and white.

So the vaccine isn't approved for an 11 year old but say he turns 12 tomorrow then it's all good to go.

Yeah, pass.

It’s based on how they do the trials.

And they can still get COVID (and the chances increase with new variants).

People aren't dropping dead from these vaccines. You literally just made an argument about how water is more dangerous to kids than COVID. By that logic, water is even MORE dangerous to children than vaccines.

And this isn't a kid killer either

They should continue to wear a mask if they feel like unsafe even being vaccinated

In my opinion the masks mandates aren’t to protect the vaccinated.  It’s because there’s no way to know who has had the vaccine and who hasn’t in public settings.

Wait, what? I feel like you already got lost in this conversation.

In other words, to protect those that haven't been vaccinated.

Yeah, exactly.  Although it’s often the unvaccinated flouting the mask mandates.

The only thing that will be passed, are the consequences of misinformed decisions from parents onto the children who had no say in the matter.

Paul about to catch another ass whoopin if he doesn't watch his tone. Fauci's from the Bronx, and he don't play dat sheet.

0.0002% chance of death in children and half of the deaths have underlying issues such as being fat aka obesity or asthma which has a direct link to being obese.

Around 15 had life-limiting or underlying conditions, including 13 living with complex neuro-disabilities

Six had no underlying conditions recorded in the last five years - though researchers caution some illnesses may have been missed

A further 36 children had a positive Covid test at the time of their death but died from other causes, the analysis suggests

How about parents teach their kids about the importance of eating right and exercise instead of letting them sit in front of a TV for 10 hours a day.

What's your issue with the vaccine?

I don't have one and am vaccinated, but the numbers don't show I need to vaccinate my 13 year old son.

It's not my son's responsibility to protect the idiots of the world.

Right, because you definitely can't do both. You must either raise your kids to eat right and exercise, or they must be fat and you need to give them a vaccine. Good call.

And you can keep pretending death is the only consequence if that's how you want to justify your refusal to get your kids vaccinated. They're your kids, after all. It's ultimately up to you to do what you think is right for them, not anyone else.

The irony is it's actually you that needs to protect your son from the idiots, but whatever. I'm done with this. Do what you want.

And devastate minority/poor communities who are statistically vaccinated less than the average as well?

lmfao watching ishlibs meltdown because someone doesn't want to vaccinate their young kid who has statistically almost no chance of being seriously affected by the virus has been fun. This thread always delivers.

Thanks for the great parenting advice!! I knew I was missing something the last 13 years.

For any parents that aren't suffering from lifelong brain damage, ignore the troll who can barely sustain employment at KMart. Death isn't the only metric when it comes to kids being affected by covid. There are many other complications caused by even seemingly mild cases of covid in kids, like MIS-C, myocarditis, pulmonary fibrosis, etc. We already know the virus readily crosses the blood brain barrier and anosmia or long-covid is associated with shrinkage of brain tissue based on imaging from a UK study. There's still a lot we have left to learn about how this disease impacts our bodies. All I know is that I don't want to live with the regret of falling to protect my kids because I underestimated the risks based on incomplete data.

I don't know, a random moron on the internet is pretty compelling against expert advice from doctors and epidemiologists who have spent their entire careers studying viruses and treating patients..
