The talk about employer mandates for vaccinations is good but then what will happen is the anti vaxxers will just say I can't because of religion

"I was just joking, guys. Just trolling the whole time, I swear!"

Go look and quit wasting everyone’s time you lonely little loser. I’ve made one joke post to Moss about donating my child credit payments to the election audits  That’s it. I haven’t made any other posts about the election period. But, again, please go spend the rest of the night trying to prove me wrong.

Far too many people in the USA do not understand science. They don't understand theory and proof. The scientific method itself, seems foreign to their way of thinking.

They want absolutes, like a religion. More comfy.

Let’s take a quick trip down memory lane.

I will not rush out to get the vaccines that are rushed out without proper testing.

The entire reason we have the testing and protocols in place, is because of what happened when they were not.

However, I am 60 and NOT 30. If I was 30, I would take it as soon as it was available.

Being younger you are far less likely to have complications from either.  The first vaccines available will not be as effective or as safe as those that follow. I will take the vaccine, I just am not running out to take anything I consider experimental.

I take science seriously. I take the pandemic seriously. I am not going to have my teeth cleaned right now. I could use a new pair of custom glasses, but not right now, thanks. So I will not be taking the first round of vaccine. I like safety testing. Trials. Data gathered from those who HAVE to have the vaccine NOW.

Yes, I am over 60. I have a lung issue. I did not rush out to take it.

I waited until the end of March. After about 50+ million Americans were vaccinated, 100+ of million worldwide. Then I got vaccinated, so did my wife. My 16 year old granddaughter got her second shot today. Only the 10 year old is unvaccinated.

What is your excuse?

Let's!

Zuker's ignoring it now after literally asking for proof. What a maroon

If you won't wear a mask during a pandemic, your bar of service to your fellow human is pretty Fing low.

Putting mask mandates in place to protect idiots from the consequences of their decisions is the wrong move. Announce the following tomorrow:

1. Medicare and Medicaid will no longer pay for COVID care for the unvaccinated starting 9/30. Private insurers are free to follow

2. Proof of vaccines will be needed to utilize all federal government regulated services (including airplanes and airports)

3. Strongly encourage the NFL, MLB and college football conferences (especially the SEC) to demand proof of vaccination to attend games

4. Create a national vaccine passport that businesses can choose to check if they want (i.e., no passport, no Chuck E Cheese)

Inconveniencing everyone to protect imbeciles from negative consequences is never a good idea.

No brainer imho

I think we're talking past each other a bit. There's a difference between what can be done at the federal level vs the state and local levels. Guidance from the CDC isn't a mask mandate, that's left up to governors. And as a governor in a state like Mississippi, with an abysmal vax rate, and increasingly burdened hospitals, there are few options left. Lockdowns are a non-starter from an economic perspective. Anything that's a de facto vaccine mandate from the state government is probably wading into some murky waters from a legal perspective. On the other hand, mask mandates are perfectly legal and likely seen as a lower hanging fruit from a public health policy perspective. Yes, it absolutely sucks for the vaccinated people in those states to have to wear masks again, but what are the other options a governor has at their disposal right now?

So which is it - you guys want the non vaccinated to perish, or you want us all to continue wearing masks to protect people?  I can’t keep up.

I couldn’t care less. Either works. But to help the gene pool…I will take option 1.

Lmao

I agree with 1 and 2, but not as sure on 3 and 4. Seems like it's crossing a line of the federal government dictating to private companies how to run their business. Maybe things would have to happen at a state level but even then the question of legality might persist until a BLA is issued by the FDA.

So what?  The vaccine is keeping people out of the hospital.  Getting infected with covid and infecting others isn’t the problem, hospitalization/death is.

Notice the third point

Speaking of, the FDA is starting to piss me off. Still no clear timeline on a BLA, and now they're requesting Pfizer and moderna to double the size of their pediatric trial when they should've done so months ago rather than doing it now which pushes the approval timeline for U12 back by months. Another mind numbing mistake when schools are set to open soon and many are likely to have no mask mandates despite surging community spread from delta.

I know there are a lot of people who are refusing the vaccine due to muh freedom, but I honestly think if the FDA gave full approval it would result in a surge of people getting it.  Get it done!

I think the amount would be marginal based on the BLA alone, but it would likely open the floodgates for workplace based mandates which would be a huge boost to compliance.
