Say it was December 2019(don't remember when the thread was made while the virus was still in China and we were getting those leaked pics and videos) and someone from the future(lets say July 2021) was warning everyone about the virus. They brought up the hand sanitizer shortage, the mask shortage and the nurses sad stories, people in hospitals not being able to see loved ones, businesses closing and shutting down, lots of people dying and even conspiracy theories on the number of dead are always brought up. They mention how there's a large portion of people that don't believe it's that bad and wont get the vaccine. They also bring up how there's now variants of the virus and possibility of having to get booster shots

They also brought up how some businesses found that they can do work at home, how states and businesses ended up giving incentives for people to get a vaccine, rent/loans/bills were put on pause

They just break down everything that happened. Would you believe them or cast them off as crazy. Try not to use hindsight

I was just thinking about all the stuff that's happened and it's pretty wow when you look back on it

@TEW was saying how much worse it actually is in China with video leaks and everything. Sheet looked serious but people thought it would fade out like Ebola scares.

What I really didn't consider—and which seems kinda crazy in retrospect considering how cynical I am about everything—was that, during all the time we waiting on a vaccine, that there would be a hugely significant portion of the country who wouldn't want go get vaccinated. Like, the antivaxxer idiocy had been a thing for awhile now, but before the pandemic, they still looked like just one small and isolated, albeit vocal, fringe of society. If anything, with all the people whining about closures and masks, etc. during the early stages, I'd thought that, if nothing else, they'd want the vaccine just to get back to normal. It became very clear, however, as soon as the trials started that vaccines would not be the end game that it was supposed to be. Just a total gut punch.

It's not so much the anti-vaxxers as it is the huge group of people Donald Trump created. Really hope it was worth it for people to vote him in. Congrats, your decision will have a long lasting impact for years.
