Well, about those talking points about minorities being the reason for the low vaccination rates...

So white, evangelical and republican.

Anyone noticing any supply chain issues. Went to the grocery store at noon today and were whole sections low in stock. Not any particular item like toilet paper last year, but spread thru out the store.

For me, it's been like that since March 2020. Some days it's better. Lately it's getting worse. Just random things: Like there's a shelf full of bacon but no orange juice. Or something like that.

I am hearing we should expect supply chain disruptions through the winter.

I'm going to call BS on serial liar Alex Berenson.

https://www.8newsnow.com/news/health/coronavirus-health/new-nevada-reports-33-covid-19-deaths-matches-clark-county-at-16-1-test-positivity-rate/

"Hospitals report that 95%+/- of all patients hospitalized are unvaccinated. Hence, robust vaccination campaigns remain the best mitigation strategy,” the organization stated two weeks ago. (this was reported the 17th, so that would have been early August)

If 95% of hospitalized are unvaccinated, there's no way 60% of deaths are vaccinated. Methinks, and I'm just spitballing here, that Alex has no idea what he's doing from a data analysis standpoint. A more cynical person might think he's some combination of idiot and biased reasoner.

Or this is going to be some data anomaly reported as newsworthy like when 1 out of 7 persons who dies of Covid in some place in Appalachia it's reported as "14% of deaths are among vaccinated" like it means something.

So I dug into it, because I have a meeting shortly and no reason to dig into some other task beforehand. Here's the reported deaths for Clark County over that time period:

Wed 11th: 15
Thu 12th: 23
Fri 13th: 38
Mon 16th: 26
Tue 17th: 26
Wed 18th: 17

so the total deaths -  145 - are more than twice the number Berenson claims (60).

Not to mention the methodology he used does not take into account the time of the deaths, only when they were reported. So we have no idea when the actual deaths reported on the 11th vs the 19th happened. He's just subtracting them and assuming those deaths occurred during that timeframe.

So basically this moron scours COVID reports and tries to find outlier numbers that fit his narrative. Sounds about right.

I don't know of anyone who said that minorities are the reason for low vaccination rates.  I did say, that's it's not just one demographic that refuses to get it.

There's one or two here.

Yes.  Tried to order wings in MD once, all out!   Local bar mgr. says one week is one thing and next week is other things.  While in NY last week, couple of menu items were changed/deleted due to lack of supply.

Not enough dock/factory workers?  Truck drivers?

So now we can’t even get chicken wings in Biden’s America. First stolen tools and now chicken wings. Where does it end?

Who would have known stupidity and Trump flags would be found in the same exact place. Shocked.

this guy called Berenson's BS out more completely:

basically, if you stratify the deaths by age group, most were in the 65+ age group - a group whose vaccination rate is even higher than the general population.

so the percentage was nowhere near what "math wiz" Berenson calculated (maybe he needed to take off his socks and count on his toes?), and because it was concentrated among the most vaccinated group he failed to acknowledge the impact of the base vaccination rate...  i.e. any number of deaths among a vaccinated population needs to be considered in relation to that base vaccination rate. if 75% of the population is vaccinated and 25% of those who die are vaccinated, that means 75% of deaths are concentrated in the unvaccinated 25% .. IOW the vaccines are working.

So white, evangelical and republican.

And specifically Trumplicans.

I still think the most obvious correlation is between that 30 percent of Republicans that thinks Trump is going to be reinstated sometime this year and refusing to get the vaccine. I bet that match up of demographics is close to 100 percent.

"I'm not against vaccinations but just hear me out.
Diptheria- vaccine was made in 1920s, widely used in 1930's routinely used in the 1940s but the first year with no cases in U.S. was in 2004.
Smallpox- was made in 1967 after it was already out of north america completely. The last cases were reported around globe between 1971-1977
Measles vaccine development started in 1968... was put out for distribution between 1978-1982... in 1981 there was still an out break. 1st year with out measles was 2000.
Pertussis- 1st developed in 1930... started being used 1940. In 2014 there was 24 million cases and 160,700 deaths. Even if vaccinated you have to get the treatment if exposed to someone infected.
Polio vaccine took 5 years in development to work efficiently.
Rubella vaccine started development in 1969 and was distributed until a better/ safer version was developed in 1979.
Tetnus vaccine produced in 1890, actual used in 1924, the next version of it was in 1948. In 1991 a new version was made due to safety concerns of old version. Tetnus is still active today.
I'm not saying vaccines dont work and I'm not against vaccinations but they take time to work. People who did not jump to get vaccinated are not ignorant. MRNA has been around yes and tested on animals but this is the first time it is being used on humans. There are millions of terrifying horror stories out there from people having bad side effects. I have friends who have lost family to covid, I have friends who have lost family from vaccine, I have friends who have had no reaction from vaccine and I have friends who had terrible side effects. I'm not asking for a debate here all I'm asking for is more time to make a decision right for me. #protectyourfamily #whathappenedtomybodymychoice

I am resigned there are some folks that refuse to be vaccinated. No matter what we do they will never be convinced. They will always seek out misinformation to confirm their own bias. They choose to be infected in the wild. We will suffer the consequences they choose.

It will never be 100%.

Which is why we have fresh measles outbreaks from time to time. The unvaxxed, visiting countries that have not wiped it out.

Not to mention the fact that this vaccine for this type of various isn’t designed to give 100% immunity.

Curious.  What does this mean?

It means he is an imbecile who thinks posting on a message board is a career. Which says a lot about his life accomplishments.

Florida is the only state where more people are dying of COVID now than ever before. What went wrong?

Ron DeSantis. Over half the schools are mandating masks in defiance of his stupid orders. They risk their salaries to save the lives of their fellow Floridians. Something Ron seems to not give a crap about.
