officially because they're only going through trials with the same brands, I think doctors can only recommend you get a booster of whatever you originally got.

unofficially, from what I've heard doctors are suggesting mixing it up might be helpful.

I have no idea if that makes sense.

True, i think they're gonna try to give you the same brand if they have it. If they don't though, I imagine they'll still give you whatever they have, but I could be wrong. My point though, was that those of us on team blue should have a sense of urgency in getting that booster sooner rather than later if you're trying to ward off symptomatic infection. Team red can wait a bit knowing they should have somewhat better protection already.

yeah the wife and I got pfizer, and my son will be getting it soon as well.

as far as the politics of COVID go, I'm not sure what else you can expect Biden to do. if people want to be idiots and not do the things that will help at least minimize deaths and spread because their personal politics override common sense, short of ordering a vaccine mandate (which he couldn't even do legally) Biden simply doesn't have the authority to do more.

he's pressed private companies to issue the mandates he cannot by proxy. vaccines are readily available.

people are just fugging stupid.

I can’t believe Biden can’t convince people who think he eats babies to get vaccinated and wear a mask.

Don't forget how he is failing black and latinos who also refuse to get vaccinated, most likely due to misinformation spread by the libs are baby adrenaline suckers, crowd.

From what I’ve seen, black and Latino numbers aren’t that bad anymore.

Where are Hawaii, Oregon, and Michigan in all this?  Hawaii is apparently reaching ICU bed capacity, for instance.

Amazing that the states with some of the strictest lockdown and mask requirements also seem to have higher infection rates.

What's more amazing is that Israel, with one of the highest per capital vaccination rates also is seeing one of the highest per capita infection rates.

Schools to open Wed., with Israel’s per capita COVID rates among world’s worst

Israel has highest 7-day rolling average of cases for its population size; daily positive tests pass 11,000 for 1st time; education minister says schools may be forced to adapt

First of all, Hawaii has one of the lowest number of ICU beds per capita in the nation: https://www.forbes.com/sites/niallmccarthy/2020/05/18/icu-bed-capacity-in-all-50-us-states-compared-infographic/?sh=27c66bc024dc

So looking at ICU bed capacity in a vacuum makes no sense.

Hawaii has 30 people per 100k in hospitals. Florida has about 80.

And I already covered Israel here:

Israel ... 5.7 / 100k in the hospital. yeah, they have high case rates, but they're not severe cases.

VACCINES WORK.

Mask mandates are back in effect here on base starting this morning regardless of vaccination status. Everyone must wear a mask at all times while indoors (unless in your domicile), while in a vehicle with 2 or more people, and even outside if social distancing is not possible.  👎

Australia is now racing to ramp up vaccinations as they have come to the conclusion that they can slow but not contain the virus with lockdowns.  New Zealand, despite it's harsh isolationist tactics is now at record case levels.  Obviously delta has changed the game for both of these countries.  Australia has now publicly recognized that their policy of "zero tolerance" cannot work and that they need to shift to a policy of control and without lockdowns.

Illinois church camp that didn't require vaccinations or masks linked to as many as 180 Covid cases, CDC says

Campers slept in groups of about 100 in "large, shared boarding facilities" and were in frequent close contact with staff members and campers for indoor and outdoor activities.

Impossible to see coming.

We've been somehow spared by delta thus far, though I'm not sure why since we lag in vaccination rates. My guess is we built up a lot of natural immunity from the alpha wave that tore through here back in April. Which makes me question how much of delta's immune escape is due to mutations vs just waning antibody levels. Starting to think it's more of the latter and less of the former.

Misleading a bit because Israel does more testing than just about anybody. Meanwhile we have many states here that employ an out of sight, out of mind philosophy.

If the paste is tomato and made from San Marzano tomatoes, she does have the paste.

I don't think it will help her husband's fever, but it is my choice.

It's time to start holding the unvaccinated responsible by denying them medical care or making them pay for the medical care they are getting. They are taking up beds from people who actually need them, like cancer patients.

All I can ever find is paste from romas. I don't use much of it in any case, maybe a spoonful or two for a 12 qt pot.

Falsifying federal documents, and then getting caught because it looked like you used a crayon to do it, to own the libs.

San Marzano tomatoes grow in the volcanic soil of Mount Vesuvius. Probably the least acidic tomatoes I have ever tried.

Expensive, but worth it, IMHO.
